Tranquil location, just perfect!

Wonderful location, welcoming and helpful hosts, spotless facilities in the most peaceful location. First time visitors to the area but will definitely be back. So much to see and do in the area, lots of fantastic walks right on the doorstep. Thank you so much for giving us a warm welcome, I wish there were more sites like this dotted around the country.

Beautiful, tranquil, friendly site

Just back from our first visit to this beautiful site. Highly recommend a visit. We stayed 3 nights and wished we'd been able to stay longer. The owners Archie and Justine are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. A large site with well spaced, level, hardstanding pitches, each with ehu and water. There's a single, spotlessly clean, heated loo on the site. There are plenty of lovely walks right on the doorstep - a noticeboard at the entrance to the site has lots of information on them. The River Dee is just across the road and the Deeside Way old railway line is across the bridge. Great for walking and cycling. The site is edged with trees with woodland behind plenty of wildlife to be seen as arrived We and our dog absolutely loved our stay on this beautiful, tranquil site. We'll definitely be back

Lovely country site for those wanting peace and quiet with easy access to walks.

We stayed shortly after Easter and had a very pleasant time. Looking mainly for peace and quiet with easy access to plenty of walks to enjoy with our dog. Pitches are very large and well serviced , the only downside of this being that the single block facility , for Chemical/Grey Waste can be a long distance over grass. More work will be needed to make this easier perhaps and the grass entrance was starting to cut up even during our 6 day visit so thatg will need addressing. Excellent location for Deeside including a Hotel within 1/4 mile , we did not use on this visit but will do so next time. Extra Electric Charge can make the stay a bit more expensive (perhaps 15 Kw instead of 10 Kw would still allow a good profit margin ?) , especially as we had cold weather (to be expected in April in Scotland) but in view of its premium location perhaps acceptable...... All the above being said our hosts Justine and Archie could not be more helpful and friendly and we are looking forward to returning hopefully later in the year.

CHRISTMAS AT FIRBANK – JUST PERFECT

We spent Christmas at this fantastic new CL set in a beautiful setting within Royal Deeside. It’s the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing peaceful getaway. The site is stunning in an amazing location with no road noise. As other reviewers have said the pitches are huge, mostly level with a convenient fresh water tap at each pitch. There is a service point for motorhomes to drive over, chemical waste disposal and the bonus of a heated toilet on site. Good access to fabulous walks, many direct from the site. The river is literally across the road and has benches dotted along the river bank. There is an abundance of nature and wildlife to be seen without even leaving the site. We went up the hill behind the site one night in the hope of seeing the Aurora Borealis as we had received an alert. It was literally pitch black but the track had good well maintained paths. We didn’t see the Northern Lights but a perfect place to photograph them should you be lucky enough to see them. The owners Archie & Justine are friendly and approachable. They made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to make our stay that extra bit special and memorable. They visited all the guests on Christmas day and gave them a selection of homemade cakes baked by Archie’s mum which were still warm and absolutely delicious. Such a thoughtful touch and thanks to Archie’s mum! A delightful stay, we loved everything about it and looking forward to returning. Highly recommended.

Winter wonderland - Perfect CL for a winter escape!

Excellent CL site in a beautiful natural setting. Lovely local walks direct from the site, along the River Dee, into beautiful Glen Tannar along with easy access onto the Deeside Way Cycle track. Very welcoming site owners who have done an amazing job setting up this CL site, even the luxury of a heated little toilet shed. Set in a forest clearing, it’s the ideal place for star gazing with no light pollution. Ten minutes from Ballater and Aboyne in the other direction with a great hardware store, Strachan’s if you need any supplies for your caravan or motorhome. A must visit CL site to have a relaxing break away at any time of the year. We spent Christmas and New Year here in a winter’s wonderland setting.

Amazing CL, A Real Hidden Gem

We have just come back today from a great restful weekend at an amazing new cl site in Royal Deeside, Firbank Park by Dinnet. The welcome we got was very friendly and appreciated, Justine and Archie are both very friendly hosts, the site is very spacious and well laid out. The attention to detail that they have put into this new site is clear to see, good level hard standings, spacious pitches with electric and fresh water points very close at hand. The site is located on the south side of the River Dee, lots of walks on the doorstep and only a few miles from good shopping, restaurant's etc in Ballater and Aboyne. We were recommended to visit the Highlanders Bakehouse at Crathie, right next door to Balmoral Castle. We were not disappointed, with lovely fresh baking (Done in house) and the most amazing Hot Chocolate. We are already planning our return visits to Firbank Park and pleased to note that the site is open all year..

Quiet and peaceful site with lovely welcome

Wonderful new little CL with huge pitches. Both the two of us and our dog loved it. So quiet and peaceful, the only noise we heard were owls during the night. Lovely welcome by Justine, who told us of places to visit in the area. Lots of great walks direct from the site. We walked along the old railway line to the suspension bridge on the way to Ballater and also did a short walk at the back of the site to the edge of Glen Tamar, a lovely forest. Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon.

Great site, well maintained, lovely owner who couldn't be more helpful

We stayed for 6 nights in late September (couple with 2 dogs). Lots of great things to say - very quiet, well planned and maintained new site. Pitches with huge spacing between them, all within an enormous field. Really great for dogs. Good access to fabulous walks - many from the site itself without driving. Walk over the small hill to Glen Tanar is recommended. On the first morning we were there, we had a serious emergency with one of our dogs - Justine the site owner was absolutely lovely and offered any assistance we needed. After emergency surgery, a difficult 48 hours and several visits to the vets in Torphins (who were also wonderful), our dog made a good recovery. It was reassuring to know that Justine was happy to help in any way she could - offering to shop for us, etc. if necessary. Thank you Justine - all much appreciated. Great place to eat in Aboyne - The Boat Inn. Highly recommended, booking advised. The Highlander Bakehouse near Crathie Kirk also highly recommended for scones, bread, cakes, etc. Looked like a great place to eat in for lunch too, but we only did take-away. Quirky, and very good. Braemar Gallery - as always, a great place for a browse and we always come away with some painting or scultpure - this time was no different.
