Looking for relaxation-Found it!!!

What a hidden gem. Yes the final turn into the CL needs care as rocky corner wall, but with care no problem. We spent a fortnight here in May 2023, great base to explore the region. The scenery was amazing, so was the flora, azelias and rhododendrons in full blaze everywhere with all the different colours you can imagine absolutely beautiful. Coastal views were breathtaking, but the best bit the roads, smooth, very light traffic, clean and no rubbish but the most noticeable was No Potholes, a sheer pleasure to enjoy the motoring. The CL had a good supply of scenery you don’t get tired of admiring, whilst the constant bird song keeps you entertained. Very good value for money £15 per night all in, hope they will not hike the prices as some member owned CLs have done this year by as much as 40% shame on them. This site is now earmarked for our return and recommendation. Thank you Helene for a most enjoyable visit, regards Lou and Terri

Peaceful CL Site

Lovely peaceful cl site. Excellent scenery. A tranquil area well kept site, ff the quiet Cader Road a few minutes' drive from Dolgellau. 40 minutes walk into Dolgellau beware there is steep hill on your return back to cl site. The directions to site was misleading directions to turn opposite Lucy and Tattum are incorrect. This should show Pen Bryn garage. Also there is no sign Cader Road but there is a brown post directing you to Cader Idris. Highly recommend site.

Peaceful site

First the negative- the directions and CAMC signage weren’t very good. The sign had been put further up driveway out of sight so we missed the turning. Nowhere to turn around along the very narrow lane. Luckily Managed to turn in someone’s drive. But the site itself is rather lovely. Peaceful, nature all around and miles from anywhere. Only stayed 1 night but would like to return (now we know where they are!)

Beautiful site

A tranquil, well kept site, off the quiet Cader Road a few minutes' drive from Dolgellau. Plenty of walks from the site itself, and more within a short drive. Will definitely be coming again!

Tranquil location

Stayed here for 3 nights as trial run in my new caravan and agree the location has lovely views and very convenient for visiting both the coast and mountains. The weather was very wet but no trouble accessing the site with my 2 wheel drive car. Having stayed here some 30 years ago I found it, but still overshot the turning as the directions to turn opposite Lucy and Tattum are incorrect. This should show Pen Bryn garage. Also there is no sign Cader Road but there is a brown post directing you to Cader Idris. There was no CAMC sign at the site entrance.

Ideal spot

Spent 2 nights here tavelling North on our way to Scotland. Great spot with water and recycling bins etc as you enter. Fabulous views from the top of the 2 fields that have a mown walk around them - only the first field is camping. When you get there select your spot and then drive around behind the caravans shown in the photo so you can drive straight though - no reversing. We stayed on the last place which has quite a slope at the back. The rear of the caravan was nearly touching the ground when levelled but no problem. This was the worst place for this but quietest as furthest from the entrance. The main road is immediatly in fron of you the other side of the hedge but no problem with little traffic in September No problem with the entrance - we are 11.75m in ttal length witrh a 7.3m caravan. Just be carefull. Further down the road is a National Trust car park for walking - minimum £3 which is not enough to walk to the top and back. Recomend the Cosy fish bar takeaway in town and there is some parking there, but be awaring of the one way system taking the left tuen before it and then the first right. I do not recomend taking a mid to alrge motorhome there though. Excellent price and very helpfull on the phone. Orginal email using cl site address had no reply and then given another one when I booked. Yes we would stay here again and for a longer time. We would however not travel up the west coast again to travel to Scotland from Pembrokeshire as so slow.

Just returned from staying five nights at this site. This site is extremely well-kept with fantastic views from the seat at the top of the site. It is in a wonderful setting with good access to plenty of walking and cycling. Jan, the caretaker, was extremely helpful and very pleasant to speak to. We don’t normally return to sites that we have already stayed at, but would very much like to with this site.

Beautiful Site

We spent just over a week at this CL in August and absolutely loved it. The site is located up on the hillside and the caravans are on a level section at the bottom of a hill. If you climb up to the top of the field where there is a wooden bench to sit on you are presented with an amazing view of the hills and mountains. It's very peaceful even when it is full. We didn't see the owner or caretaker while we were there and the payment system is by putting money in an envelope into a letterbox. Just down the road is a lovely short walk around a very peaceful lake and there are footpaths all around. During our stay we were able to watch a hare grazing and a leveret playing in the longer grass. The town of Dolgellau is just down the road and has a good variety of shops and amenities. Barmouth is not far away and a walk across the railway bridge that spans the estuary is a must. A very scenic area of Wales and a beautiful and peaceful CL. We will be returning.

Peaceful location

This is a quiet and peaceful location, the grass is mown regularly and short. The pitches are clearly laid out with stone electricity points between them. Lots of walks and drives from the site and easy access into Dolgellau. An information pack is provided by email when you book, and the caretaker visits regularly. Whilst there are no open views from the site due to trees and hedges, this does mean that the site is more sheltered and screened form the nearby road (which was very quiet).
