Booked for 2 nights at the beginning of September. Lovely setting in a field at the back of the owners house.
Bonus having a shower and toilet available, however they ask for a donation per shower to a cancer charity so a bit of change is needed.
Low flying aircraft occasionally flying into Prestwick but did not spoil our stay.
Would stay again if we were in the area.
Pitches are well spaced out, only 2 of us on the site but even if it was full it wouldn't feel crowded.
Stay at glendell
We had two caravans at Glendell for 6 nights lovely site plenty of space on each site ,been going to this site for a number of years now. Some planes going into Prestwick but it doesn't bother you it is lovely to see and get good photos of them.owner meets you when you come in.

Disappointed
Despite booking 2 pitches months in advanced, arrived to be told they had let someone (6th van) stay on one of my pitches. Offered hard-core parking space next to house. So we parked together in one pitch with only 1 EHU, had paid in full for 2. Told they would refund us, but they didn't bother, avoided us. Just greed overbooking rules and taking all money.
Didn't realise planes came over right through the night, assumed they would stop for a few hours.
Otherwise would be a good site, so disappointed with service :-(
Good CL
We stayed at this CL for 7 nights. Access to the CL was very good and the lovely owner met us on arrival. The site is fairly spacious and there are good walks round about. It is very convenient for Ayr. and other attractions. The CL is on the flight path for Prestwick but flights are far and few between and it wasn't a problem. The fresh water supply could do with improving and the chemical waste was pretty poor. It is however, a good site and worth a visit.
Great little site
Stayed for a couple of nights to chill out.
Very peaceful as all have said.
It's underneath the flight path to Prestwick Airport, but the planes were very few and far between.
Nice CL easy to find and a good base for sightseeing around.
Location is good, nice path opposite to walk to local shop for groceries with the dogs, quiet other than the sound from the cows in the field next door which we enjoyed. Took us a while to level the caravan, maybe other pitches would have been a better choice. Water and waste easy to locate and use, only downside was the lack of toilet/shower. We were warned in advance that there might be a possibility of no facilities but the reason given was covid (which isnt going to disappear any time soon so perhaps these facilities should be completely removed from the listing) We were the only ones on site for the first night. No issue with this but perhaps the price per night should be adjusted accordingly. PS Never met Joyce only her husband who was helpful and welcoming.
Quiet Site
Easy to find. Quiet & peaceful. Owner was out when we arrived so parked up with no problem.

Weekend Away
We stayed at Glendell for three nights this month, July 2021. Glendell is not far from home which suited us as we had just bought a new caravan and wanted to try it out.
Glendell is set in a lovely location. It has a good wide roadside gateway for longer units. The site all be it has five pitches only, is huge, giving plenty room to manoeuvre and a feeling of privacy one sited. It is all grass which is kept neat and tidy. There is a good foundation below the grass and I cannot ever imagine the surface suffering from excess rain. Sixteen amp hook up, chemical waste and fresh water with very good pressure are all well positioned. Due to Covid regulations, we used our own on board facilities.,
There are many walks all within walking distance of Glendell. The river Ayr walk is perfect.
Mr & Mrs Sloan are lovely caring people, who obviously take pride in their business and leave you in peace, but are there if you need them.
I truly recommend this CL.

Convenient stopover
This was an easy to find site, well maintained and cared for. We were in a motorhome on our way to Arran. Convenient dog walk across the road. Although the ground undulated slightly it was easy to find a level spot without blocks. Facilities were easy to find and use. Union flag for water, Saltire for chemical disposal (X marks the spot!).
Another enjoyable stay
Just returned from our second visit to Glendell and it was as good as we remembered from our first visit. The grass had just been newly mown (cuttings gathered so no pesky tramping grass cuttings into van) and we were fortunate to get fantastic weather during our stay. The owners are very pleasant and whilst available if required, leave you in peace to enjoy your stay. The site is a short drive from Ayr town centre and the various towns/villages on the Ayrshire coast, always with fantastic views over to the isle of Arran. I was amazed to read a previous review saying they were disappointed at the clingy shower curtain and number of loo rolls available, this is a small peaceful cl site where most owners expect to use their own facilities, if you want fancy toilet facilities use a facilitated site with fancy nightly site fees. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to many more.
