Returned after 3 years

Just back from an excellent week on Goat Fell, lovely welcome from Rose who remembered us from our previous visit. Perfect base for exploring the area and visiting Alton Towers. Hope to return again in the future.

Goat Fell Farm

Nice roomy, well spaced hard standing pitches, all with water, electric hook up and grey water drain on pitch. Beautiful views, a little occasional road noise but otherwise very quiet. Not a great welcome, just a sign on the gate saying dogs loose in yard. Owner very friendly when we found her. The path to to toilet and shower is slippery/ wobbly/ dangerous. The toilet and shower are not marked or signposted and given the fact we couldn't find anyone about we struggled to find it as it is actually a lean to building on the side of the house, accessed through french windows!

Certainly not a wheelchair friendly CL. Although the shower is roomy and level access there is no handrail or shower stool available. Lack of handrail not great  even for young children. Given the state if the path there is no way you could get to the facility from a pitch in a wheelchair and then there is a 3 inch step up + UPC sill and french window to tackle. For pennies and a bit of TLC/ attention to detail, i.e.path, signage, handrails, shower stool and ramp into toilet/ shower, this could be be a really  lovely CL.

all hard standing with indivigual water and grey waste.sign to show where toilet/shower was would be useful if ,like us you arrive and there is no owners on site.very quiet site.rained alot when we were there(june) and the route to the toilets etc is via slabs that were to say the lest a bit squiggy and walking on them created "squirts" of water .easy remidied by bit of hard core/sand underneath.would go there again as the listed probs are small ones compared to the lovely site.
