Immaculate site, so peaceful

We had a very pleasant stay on this lovely site in the Lincolnshire Wolds. The site is immaculate. The pitches are all serviced and are well spaced out. The information hut had lots of items to borrow to pass the time which was a nice touch. We appreciated that the friendly owners took the time to welcome each new arrival, explaining the local area. We were lucky enough to see the famous barn owl too. My husband spent many hours at the fishing lake, catching lots of reasonably sized fish. It was very peaceful here too, with a few dog walkers passing by. The site is well situated for walkers with stunning scenery. Within a short drive are the quaint towns of Louth, Horncastle and Woodhall Spa. A site to recommend.

Very peaceful.

Beautiful site with a serviced pitch. We saw a wonderful range of bird life including a stunning barn owl. Large pitch, very helpful owners and the tidiest service area we have ever seen. A cute hut with information on the area, maps and novels to read. We toured the area by car and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for peace and quiet then this is the place for you and you are still within an easy drive to local attractions. However, if you are interested in walking, there are numerous walks from the site to various villages. Highly recommend this site.

Couldn't ask for more

Favourite site by a fair margin having now visited on four occasions in the past two years. Lovely, quiet location and, other than birdsong, only the occasional passing tractor disturbing the tranquillity. For walkers there are several excellent half-day or full day walks directly from the site on shorter half-hour to an hour walks from the site to nearby villages. it's unfortunate that the village local has still not reopened since the first lockdown however this made us seek out the wonderful 'Massingberd Arms' (no food but exceptionally good for a traditional pint - cash only!) just fifteen minutes away by bike and the 'Blue Bell' (food orientated) a similar distance in the opposite direction. Looking forward to our next visit!

Yorkshire Motorhome

This site is absolutely stunning, beautifully kept and well equipped. The owners are extremely helpful without being intrusive. The fishing is excellent, I had the lake to myself and caught countless fish. The call connect bus service is excellent, we had the whole bus to ourselves, bang on time both ways to and from Louth (9 miles) for £7.70. Certainly on our list for a second visit.

Wonder in the Wolds

Just returned home from a lovely few days on this site. Serviced pitches, quiet, level, wildlife. Good walks and cycle rides from the site. Difficult to add more without repeating what others have said. Happy to recommend - thank you.

Highly recommend

This is a peaceful site, well maintained in a great location. It ticks pretty much every box you could ask for: The site is surrounded by countryside with a selection of walks direct from site. The pitches are large with good separation between them. Each pitch has a hard standing and a grass area. Fairly unusually for a CL, each pitch is a fully serviced pitch providing the convenience of water, grey waste disposal as well as EHU. They are thoroughly cleaned between stays. In fact I would say the whole site is pristine. There is a handy ‘info room’ that provides guided walks, games, DVDs and books. There are pubs within reasonable walking distance but the local pub hadn’t reopened after lockdown. I’m sure they will reopen soon. The only thing missing was a toilet/shower room but this is a CL and good value for everything that they do offer.

Idyllic setting.

This is a very peaceful CL set in large grounds with lovely views from all pitches. Diane and Tim are very welcoming hosts who have spent considerable time and effort in creating a CL with excellent facilities that also includes a well-stocked information hut with leaflets on the area, maps, suggestions for walks, DVDs, board games and a selection of books. There are several good walks directly from the site. Horncastle, Woodhall Spa and Louth are all within a short drive and offer a variety of shops and the coast is approximately 30 minutes away. We really do rate this CL very highly.

Peaceful and tranquil

This is a lovely tranquil and peaceful site. Tim and Diane are lovely hosts, very welcoming and informative. Gated drive to the pitches, with a large board on arrival advising you of your pitch number and how to park. Two very nice toilets and a shower are just a short walk away, but we used our own facilities on board our motorhome but they were lovely and clean, and even had complimentary shower soap and shampoo in case you'd walked down and forgotten to bring yours! There was a very good array of leaflets and maps for walks and local tourist attractions, books, DVD's and games to borrow. There is the most gorgeous lake, primarily for fishing but I could have quite easily 'wasted' many an hour reading a book down at the edge of the lake. We only have the use of bikes when on site but Tim told us of a lovely cycle ride, the roads are quiet so it makes cycling a pleasure, sadly the pub Tim told us about was shut when we arrived. I would just say that if you are in a motorhome, Horncastle, which is 6 miles away, is your nearest shopping centre so it may be a good idea to stock up before you arrive. There is a large Tesco in the town centre which we found easy to park in. Cadwell Park is an easy cycle ride away so if you're into your motorsport this is a good site to consider staying at. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat, look no further.
