A good choice

I have 30 minutes again to review this Certificated  Site - my previous lengthy review ran out of time and was scrambled.  I shall be very brief this time and boldly suggest that this small, compact, easy locateable, view enticing, very welcoming, tidy site is just the site for anyone who enjoys the wide open spaces of North Yorkshire.

Peaceful week away

Have just spent a week at this CL and I only have 1 word - stunning - . The location is amazing and there are terriffic views to match; rolling hills and countryside as far as the eye can see. The Cl is easy to get to from the road and we had a great welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The only downside was that as it had been raining and the site is on a slope, a 4 x 4 would have been useful to get us up the hill but I can't see this being a problem to all users if it is dry but there were plenty of people around to give us a push! Will definitely return.

Lovely CL

This is all you need in a CL, I'm sorry but if you are looking for more and not happy with being here it's time to sell your caravan and stop at home, and whinge to yourself. Gorgeous Yorkshire countryside, lots of interesting places near by. If you like gardens Harlow Carr is a must and 25 miles (worth it) away is Beningbrough Hall with an outstanding walled kitchen garden. Fountains Abbey is beautiful. Top tip: ignore the GPS coordinates for they will lead into a serpent's mouth (farm entrance up the hill), you do not want to go there. You may wish to use the proper ones 54.1092 and 1.6311

Top Notch LocalPlacesOfInterest

A super little site situated just off the Ripon -Pately Bridge road. Nice little grass field behind the owners immaculate property with stunning views over to Sutton Bank and the Hambleton Hills and a little toilet/washbasin in a a little outhouse. Great places nearby - Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, Stump Cross Caverns and Ripon itself. great eating nearby at the Grantley Arms. The owners are very friendly indeed and nothing is to much bother for them. Its on my favourites list and I can highly recommend to all.

Found too late in the season.

The reason I say found too late, is that we wanted to return after our planned stops were completed but would have been too late. A super site. All pitches marked and plenty of room not the largest site but big enough. The house and grounds around the site immaculate! The owners made us most welcome, and even getting us eggs from the milkman. Toilet facilities clean and adequate. We had 3 nights, visited local sights, but too little time to do more. On on our list for to do's next season.

Nice CL in a lovely location

Good CL in great location for walking around the local area with the ripon rowel walk adjacent to the CL and has good road access to travel further afield. The owner is very pleasant and there are some lovely views from the site. I found this CL for the first time about a month ago, just visited for the second time and already booked to visit again in a few weeks.

Friendly owners and handy location

We found this site very easily, you enter between two buildings from the busy main road. so approach it slowly and give plenty of indication. A nice lawned site with electric which was fine in the dry weather. Another couple had visited in the wet winter weather and said that heavier vehicles may have a problem then. The 5 pitches are ranged along the high hedge and are nice and sheltered, but if you have a satellite dish you may find better reception in the top left one. We did have a problem with a caravan parking in completely the wrong place which meant someone then squeezed in next to us as they had taken up 1 1/2 pitches, luckily it was just one night - next time we'll say something before they unhitch! The owners are very friendly and there is a handy toilet which is kept clean. We were able to walk from the site to both Brimham Rocks and Fountains Abbey (a definite must for visiting) and Ripon is just a few miles away by car (no handy bus unfortunately).
