Between counties

We spontaneously phoned this site on a hot Saturday morning and we were pitched up early that afternoon. The village of Laintwardine has a couple of pubs. The Lion is one of the top pubs in Shropshire according to recent news and the Sun inn is one of the last remaining parlour pubs. In between these pubs is a well renowned chip shop (fiddlers elbow). There is also a fuel garage with small shop attached. The site is an easy 5 min walk to these amenities. Of interest in the summer is a small piece of common land running along the river Teme with a weir pool which is used by locals as a swim spot. It gets very busy in the day time but we had it to ourselves in the evening and morning. The sit itself is a large level lawn with mature hedges and trees creating a private boundary. It has a WC and hand wash, refuse bins and water supply. All facilities were clean and well presented. We couldn’t fault this site and only didn’t give 5 due to the age of the facilities and the road running adjacent. We will return.

A very pleasant stay

We enjoyed our stay at Green Cottage CL. We found the owners to be very friendly and welcoming. The site is spacious, largely grass, and quite level. There are old pear trees around the edge, so perhaps it was an orchard once. We weren't bothered by intermittent traffic noise from the adjacent A4113. It's a short walk, over the river Teme, into Leintwardine where there are a number of amenities. Knighton is only 20 minutes away by car.

Very Nice Site

Well mowed lawn. A little awkward entry/exit. Only recommended access from from Leintwadine. I agree with previous reviewer about road noise, but thats hardly the owners fault. Would we come again? Yes, if we have a need to visit the area again.

Will return

When you find a nice site there is some reluctance to giving it a very positive review because it might be fully booked when you want to go back. This is a very nice site, flat, short grass, two secluded corners to park up in. The welcome is, well, very welcoming. Access is simple, there is even a walkway through the hedge at the bottom of the site to save walking the road into Leintwardine. The chippy is next door to the pub (the Sun), you can place an order in the chippy and they will deliver it to the pub for you for a 10% charge. Downside, some road noise especially lunatic motorcyclists. All in all a very pleasant stay. We will go back.

Our Favourite Family Site

A fantastic site extremely well kept with lots of space to enjoy quality time with the family. Walking distance to a local hotel (Lion Hotel), nice beer garden with childrens play area. Across the road to renowned chippy then a final pint in 'The Sun', the last parlour pub in England. Always a thoroughly enjoyable break. Mr&Mrs Moore
