A Lovely Stay

We only ended up here by chance, we wanted to visit Bath Christmas Market and we left it too late to book anywhere nearer! However, it was clearly our lucky day as we loved this site and will definitely return. Communications with the host were great, and we were generally left alone to do our own thing, just as we like it. We were recommended to bring wellies, but even after the amount of rain we'd had recently we didn't need them as we stayed at the top of the field, it would probably have been soggier further down. We saw a couple of deer prancing round the field a couple of times! The bit of the field we were on had quite a slope and I had to use my big levelling ramp to its fullest height, but that isn't a criticism - it has to be expected on a CL - just intended as a useful note for future visitors. I could have avoided the need if I'd rotated the caravan through 90 degrees, but it was my choice to be across the slope. A couple of previous reviewers have mentioned access - yes the lane is narrow, the bridge especially so, but we got through without any trouble. Possibly the trees would overhang the lane a bit more in the summer but even then I wouldn't expect any difficulty. Final comment - read the recommended access route in the site description and follow it! There are some road closures nearby that satnavs don't seem to know about yet, but the recommended route is fine.

Hidden Treasure

We had a lovely stay here, hosts Jenny and Peter made as feel very welcome and we loved the location so much that we immediately decided to extend our stay. The site is ideally located close to the M4. Facilities and recycling are well laid out and convenient to the pitches.

Lovely stay

Had a very nice stay here for 3 nights while we visited family locally. Great spot for Bristol and ideal as a stop-over. Peter and Jenny are very helpful and always on the end of the phone if needed, and they just leave you to get on with it. Will return.

Super Site and very close to Bristol

Stayed here for 4 nights while visiting family in Bristol. It's very close to all main roads approaching from the North (M5), East (M4) and South Wales (M4/M48). A very secluded site surrounded by trees for good privacy. Jenny was very welcoming on arrival and explained all facilities. If you want to be close to Bristol, the location could not be better.

Great location for Bristol visit

Jenny greeted us on arrival and guided us through the field as it had been raining heavily for days. The hardstanding was very level, plenty of space. It is so well placed for a stoo over to or from the west country and for us for family visiting. You can hear the motorway but it's still a peaceful setting and well positioned for buses to town. And some lovely walks. Our first visit but wont be our last.

Top class CL

We stayed here for a week. It's true what most people say - Peter and jenny run the site as we would want it run. It's well maintained, not overly fussy, very welcoming. There is some traffic noise but it's not too intrusive. The ground is firm and despite copious recent rain not at all muddy. Peter keeps it well mowed. It takes an awning peg easily but firmly. What more can you ask. There's a good pub or two nearby, which serve good beer and food. Peter and Jenny were also generous and allowed us to collect from the bounty of their hedgerows. Sloe Gin this Christmas. Thoroughly recommended.

our favorite site Nr. Bristol

Once again we traveled to Green Gables and received a very warm welcome from Peter and Jenny. We look for sites which are uncluttered by rules and regulations where the dog is happy and welcome and family and guests can visit us any time . All we ever ask is for electric hookup water and waste disposal plus peace tranquility and wonderful happy owners who always make us feel welcome. Thank you for having us we had a wonderful weeks holiday and will be back again soon.

The warmest welcome ever.

Review Green Gables Bristol BS16 1SS We stayed at Green Gables CL on the 3rd June. We used it as a stopover on our trip to South Wales this is a delightful little CL with plenty of room with good electrics set on an old farm field so the ground is grass but firm, I have a 7.8metre Motorhome weighing in at over 4tonne, and had no problems on site. The access through the proceeding village is manageable with care as there is one pinch point at a narrow bridge, the signage to the CL could be improved but as the owners Jenny and Peter are on hand to talk you in should any confusion arise and the welcome you receive from them both more than makes up for any stress caused. As a dog owner this CL is ideal as you can exercise your dog within the CL and there are lovely footpaths close by that take you to the local Pub. John & Maureen Duplain.

Access and road noise

This is a very well kept site , with very helpful owners . Lots of walks and pubs easily accessible from site . Access could be difficult for a large unit due to diversion . It is a great site however there is constant 24 hour road noise from near by motorway so could not be described as entirely peaceful.
