Well kept spacious site

Stayed for one night to test our ‘new to us’ van. Beautiful grass site with an additional 2 hardstandings. Spacious pitches all facing the sun with shade provided by shrubs. lovely small off- lead dog walk, and 3 laminated walks straight from site available to borrow, easy walk to a pub and village store.Toilet Shower well kept and clean and the games room is a lovely touch for families to enjoy. Meter elecric was not a problem - it cost us only £1 for 24 hours. A friendly welcome from the owner and definitely a highly recommended CL.

Lovely Stay!

A lovely bank holiday weekend spent at this pretty CL site. Very peaceful area and friendly owners Matt and Jenny. Jenny lent our daughter some dog agility jumps to use as she just loves playing horse games!! Our Springer Spaniel enjoyed them too!! We had a spacious sunny grass pitch. Large well kept lawn area with a BBQ, pergola and a picnic bench. Brilliant games room with pool, football table and puzzle room. The kids loved it. Recycling and bin area, modern waste disposal, clean shower and toilet room, information room with maps, leaflets and free WiFi, coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer and a large sink area/food prep. Two additional hard standing pitches, dog waste disposal bin, fresh water taps and everything you need for a perfect weekend. Local shop and play park recommended. Our only slightly concern was the coin operated electric hook up as we thought that this could be expensive however we spent just under £3 for our 3 night stay. This included having lights on at night, the tv, charging phones and iPads and the heating on electric one night as we woke up a little chilly. So overall a good deal. We will definitely be returning. Our favourite CL so far!

Take plenty of £1 coins!

Unfortunately, we were most disappointed by our stay at this site. Although it was tidy and well kept and Jenny was a lovely lady, the facilities totally let this site down. The hook up and showers are a £1 a time. There is only 1 shower and it is housed in a shed with the toilet next to it. We went at a fairly wet cold time in March. There is no heating in the shower room. No hot water at the sink and when we used the room the door wouldn't even close let alone lock due probably to the wet conditions it being wooden. On the plus side there is a nice little information room where the free WiFi is, that is well set out with some nice little touch's. This is where the free WiFi is, though you have to be in the room to use it. It is also in a fairly quiet pretty area, though there were some dogs barking and some coming and goings with people parking their Campers & Caravans in the field at the bottom of the site. We won't be going to this site again but hope that our constructive criticism helps them with the facilities in the future.

Friendly

Just returned after two nights at this excellent CL. Owner Jenny is very friendly and welcoming. Very peaceful. Hookup and showers are coin operated so bring some one pound coins.

Best CL site we have been to.

Lovely, well designed, peaceful site. Jenny, Matt and Norm have put a lot of effort into making this little cl site the perfect holiday getaway. We loved everything, well fenced dog exercise area, neat and tidy pitches, hot shower, information room with laminated dog walks which we found really useful. Matt was really friendly and told us about local pubs etc. We walked into chappel and went to the local pub which was good. We stayed for a long weekend and can't wait to return. Lots of walks we have yet explored so we will be back.

First time at a CL and it was fanastic

Stayed here for 2 nights a few weekends back, it was a fantastic experience. I was greeted with a warm welcome, the site and facilities were fantastic, great little area to let the dogs off their lead. The owners went away the following morning and it was looked after by a very friendly man who didn't bother us at all. It was very peaceful, and an easy walk to the Millennium green in Wakes Colne, under the Viaduct! definitely recommended and will definitely go back!

One night only- July 2017

Only had a one nighter but this is a great CL which ticked all the boxes for us. Friendly owners, quiet, level paddock, and a loo/shower. We visited Coggeshall before pitching up and in the evening we strolled down to the viaduct and around the Millennium park before having a beer at the local pub. The only niggle was, despite there being a sign on the gate stating that dogs should be on a lead at all times in the camping area (there was a good, seperate designated area for dog walking), the rules didnt seem to apply to one other camper, who had 3 running around. One was a nuisance, coming right over and barking at us, then trying to get in our camper. Owner did apologise and no harm done but could have become an issue if we'd been staying longer.

Two nights July 217

Excellent site. Very peaceful. Friendly owners. Lovely country walks from site. Great Pub about five minutes walk, just past the viaduct. One of the loveliest CL's we have stayed at. Definitely will return.

Excellent site

We stayed here for three days, would have liked to have stayed longer. very quiet and well kept, one of the nicest CL sites we have stayed on. Excellent facilities, five minutes walk to a shop and pub.The railway museum is well worth a visit. Next time we hope to stay for longer.
