Lovely site and welcome

Spent a couple of nights here as we were visiting friends nearby. Bus stop a couple of hundred yards away for hourly buses into Colchester or to Halstead. We were met by Matt who showed us to the hardstandings which he had just finished building. Water close by as is the toilet and toilet emptying point. Very peaceful site. Will definitely return. This couple are working hard to provide all the facilities that are desirable. Paul and Teresa Telfer

Really convenient for days out

Spent 6 nights here. Visited Beth Chatto's Garden and RHS Hyde Hall Gardens as well as Colchester. Very quiet and tranquil with well maintained grass. A very pleasant site. Field level (no blocks required). Plenty of space between hook-ups. Gets the sun all day, but little shade if needed. Toilet block poor but in the process of being upgraded. Only negative: Rubbish bin far too small for site, bags left out and contents had been scattered by animals/birds.

Lovely little CL convenient for Colchester and surrounds

Stayed here 2 nights with 2a and 2c. Great value and nice largely flat field with decent access. Basic but clean toilet and water tap and clean chem disp point. Surrounded by field with horses in which kids liked and provided a nicer outlook than maybe otherwise. Couple of statics surround the CL field and a few houses but lovely and peaceful in day and at night. Colchester zoo not too far away at around 10mins drive back across the A12 Would visit again for a short break

A Country Hideway

Spent a chilly but very relaxing Easter here. Smashing site only 10 mins from the A12 but definitely in the country. Well located for the East Anglian Railway Museum, "The Swan" and Colchester including the zoo. Good local walks including 32 arch Chappel railway viaduct, Grade II listed and thought to be the second largest brick-built structure in England. Very nice owners living on this well kept site. Will certainly return!

a great little site

We stayed here recently to attend the winter beer fest held at the railway museum at Chappel and only 0.7 miles from the museum. Very peaceful, wardens live on site and very helpful . We will definitely stay there again.
