CL Bliss

Previous reviews made choosing Greetham Retreat an easy choice, and we were not disappointed. Rob provides clear and precise directions (hurrah! so many don't !) and you know on arrival you are at a well planned and cared for CL. The facilities are spotless, the grounds and landscaping well cared for, and the on-site dog walk a fantastic bonus for our terrier. If you like beaches, you will be spoilt for choice (Anderby Creek was our favourite) and there are numerous lovely walks in the locality (Don't miss Snipe Dales Country Park). Gunby NT is also a lovely place to while away the day. Rob has a fantastic information centre bursting with local info, so even if you turn up with no local knowledge, you can research and get organised. Highly Recommended.

Why arn't all CLs as good as this?

Stayed here for a few days at the end of August 2023. A very well thought out CL. All the facilities you need and all to a high standard.

Perfect CL

From the initial contact on the phone to leaving everything was very professional. Booked in with a deposit and paid beforehand then received detailed information for arrival and what to expect. We like the board with our pitch number on so that we can sort ourselves out. Warm welcome with lots of information provided also an information room with lots of useful leaflets.. Great site for dogs all nicely kept and easy to do little strolls with nice views and little picnic tables if you want to use them. Good walking paths nearby, well signposted and kept well. We did cycling-phew those hills!!! Blue Bell at Belchford is great, highly recommend the sea bass and dog friendly. Also George and Dragon at Hagworthingham is great too, good food, great service and dog friendly too. Horncastle and Woodall Spa are worth visiting too.

Gem of a site

Thank you for a very pleasant stay at your cl. You have thought of everything to make our stay perfect. Hard standing/ grass pitches, shower/toilet spotlessly clean, even allowed to use the laundry room for a small price to cover washing detergent and costs of running the machines. Very peaceful and tranquil. The site is of the highest standard that you could wish for. Owner was very helpful providing us with information before we arrived. Certainly would recommend

They've thought of everything!

Fantastic little site that you have to remind yourself, isn't a fully fledged club site. Well spaced, slightly terraced pitches with lovely views (despite Lincolnshire's reputation for being flat) and very quiet and peaceful. The owner was friendly without being intrusive and took the time to welcome us and explain everything we needed to know about the site and surrounding area. There's plenty of opportunities to walk dogs around the woodland and pond area on site and footpaths from the site that enable an off-road walk to a pub (approx 6 mile round trip). The water, waste and recycling facilities are of a club site standard and the WC and shower facility is excellent and kept immaculately clean (I particularly like the red light visible from all pitches indicating if the facilities are occupied or available to use). The owners really have tried to think of everything and have invested heavily to provide a top class CL. The site is located equidistant between Lincoln and Skegness (approx 20 miles to each) and just outside Horncastle which is great for local farm shops. All in all, a lovely little site.

Relaxing retreat

First time here and wonder why we haven’t been before! We arrived and duly noted our pitch which was indicated on the board, we took our time to set up and get services sorted then a welcome cup of tea. Nice welcome from Roy a little later who explained the layout of the toilet/shower and information room, very comprehensive. There were lovely pathways cut out through the small woodland and around the lake sufficient to exercise our dog. There are nice views across the wolds from up near the house and the CL gives easy access to the local area. We enjoyed a relaxing break over a long weekend and as it’s only about an hour from home we shall definitely make a point of using this gem of a site again. Dave & Violet.

Lovely site

Lovely site with plenty of space. Host were very welcoming and had lots of information. Pitches large and level. Added bonus of toilet and shower room which was very clean and spacious. Information room with walks and maps to borrow plus leaflets for local attractions. Very secluded but very accessible. One of the loveliest CLs we have been on, had a nice week, thank you.

Lovely peaceful break

Lovely well kept site. Easy access from main A road. Access to site very clear and plenty of room to gain entry. Wifi available. Plenty of space between pitches that are nice and flat. Toilet/shower immaculate. Owner welcomed us and informed us where everything was. Information room, Washing machine facilities. Great countryside views. Will definitely return.

Fabulous owners, beautiful location

The site is very well kept & facilities are spotless. Very friendly helpful owners, without being intrusive. We needed a part for our caravan and they kindly allowed us to have it delivered to site & it was waiting for us on our caravan step when we got back from a day out. Lots of places to visit, driving around here is a dream, with stunning scenery. Nearby Anderby Creek is a fabulous beach for dog walking (30 min drive) We visited Doddington Hall too which was lovely. We also had a drive out to Donna Nook to see the seals, although dogs aren’t allowed on the beach there is a field to walk the dog around with portaloos and farmers selling beautiful freshly picked vegetables. Woodhall Spa is worth a visit. We’ll definitely visit again as there’s so much to see and do around the area. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Best CL

We have visited Greetham several times as it is such a lovely site. Spotlessly clean with well defined pitches. Beautifully kept dog walk, all the facilities nearby. The shower and loo are high standard- appreciate the red light to indicate it’s occupied- brilliant idea. Rob is very welcoming and is a wealth of information about the area. He’s there when you need him and we often see him tending the grounds. Previous review that mentions parking on grass- there’s plenty of room on the pitch so no need to be on the grass. Rob works hard to maintain standards so can totally understand not wanting cars on the grass- the description of Rob is not correct as he’s a very nice chap so take that review with a pinch of salt, Horncastle with a Tesco and Co Op is about 10 mins drive. We visited Snipe Dale Country park, Ostlers plantation( old buildings from RAF Woodhall Spa still standing in the trees) and the donkey sanctuary at Radcliffe is always a nice visit- have breakfast at Farmer Browns first- great value for money. Skegness is not far but not really our thing. The site is peaceful and lots of owls hooting at night. Definitely one of our fave sites. Booking etc is easy. Free WiFi is a lovely bonus.
