Beautiful site in stunning location

Beautiful site with lovely views over Pendle. Very quiet even though on a working farm. Spotless toilet and shower. Shower is 50p for 8 minutes. Fantastic for £18 per night.

Nice Little Site

We stayed in May 2022. The site is clean and tidy. The nearby road isn't the quietest but it didn't bother us. We didn't use the shower because we always shower in the van. Across the road opposite the site, there is a recreation ground which we found handy to walk the dogs. The overnight charge is £15 not £12.50. Clitheroe is about three miles away where there are four supermarkets, many pubs, a variety of food outlets and shops.

Really enjoyed our stay

A gently sloping field, with gravel pitches well spaced, and superb views across to Pendle hill, marred only slightly by the towers of the cement works. A toilet and shower were nice touches, the latter requiring tokens from the farmhouse, which we didn't use. Hook-ups to each pitch, and water and waste easily accessible. This is a working farm so expect the usual sounds, and with the milking parlour directly behind the caravans, perhaps louder than usual, but nothing intrusive. The elderly owner was delightful, and we would certainly stay here again.

5 night stay July 2021 Good value.

Very good value for price. Toilet and shower very clean. Nice view of Pendle Hill from our pitch. pitches well spaced out. I found it quite easy to access the site by going into Chatburn and taking the road out to Grindleton and turning left toward West Bradford with the site on your right as you approach it.

Mixed feelings

Access to village over single track bridge and then roads in village quite narrow with tight turn to negotiate , take care if you have long outfit . Site entrance is fine and pitches (h/standing ) ok , only slightly sloping . Views from pitches beautiful with Pendle hill right in front of you and cement works off to one side , so no problem . Big barn behind pitches which had sheep in at night (not too bad ) but most mornings 6.30 onwards , farmer was driving , revving and shunting tractor about til about 9 am . Toilet clearly marked but basic (no hot water ) , shower next door (not used) also basic and coin meter to it on outer wall round the corner ! Couple times a hot air balloon was set up and took off from field right in front of us , which was fun to watch but some of the "followers" came onto pitches and stood right in front of caravans to take fotos . Water tap just past the toilet/shower but elsan point further down the drive up a ramp and set in small , very smelly pipe between hedges . Site is very well placed for visiting all around local area , loads picturesque villages nearby as well as larger towns .

Lovely site, great location

Stayed here for 2 nights at the weekend. Very nice, clean, well looked after site. Good hard standing pitches. Slightly sloping but easy enough to level. Great location, just off the road, easy to walk to Waddington/Clitheroe. As a working farm there was a lot of noise from the animals in the barn directly behind the pitch but this didn't bother us, in fact we found it quite amusing - they quieten down at night! Toilet and shower room very well sign posted, clean and practical. Good recycling facilities. Nice views from the pitches -yes the cement works is in view but it is part of the landscape. Great area for walking. All in all an excellent site for £12.50 per night, would recommend and will visit again.

nice & relaxing

The site is slightly slopping good views , you can avoid looking at cement works in distance by poisoning van at a slight angle. Toilets clean and plenty of room in shower at 50p for 8min a bargain overall. It is excellent for walking or cycling into Clitheroe 2 m away. 3 pubs in Waddington approx. 1m first 2 ok good food pricey. one up by the church is a good pub very good home made pies and beer at reasonable price. Very pleasant area to go around.

Ok, but...

We stayed one night here. Owners were friendly but not overly forthcoming about facilities. The hardstanding areas are mostly just grass as they have become overgrown and most pitches are on a slope. Surface was quite waterlogged and muddy. Single loo and shower were basic but clean - token needed for shower. Site is listed as having a drive over waste point but this didn't seem to be the case. As its a working farm there are the expected noises and smells as the site is immediately next to the byre. The view is dominated by Pendle Hill in the distance and also unfortunately a large cement works nearer to the site.

Peace and quiet

If you want a peaceful site in lovely countryside with lots of local walks this is the place for you. Owners friendly when you see them. Facilities fine and all worked well. Perhaps a bit of tourist info would be more helpful.
