We will be back!

We have read the reviews for this amazing place I n Coaley. We loved it. Booked 9 nights here and it was easy access to Shops and lovely local walks. It is a working farm and therefore the farm's day to day work is the most important. James mowed the grass once lambing had finished. An excellent pub in the village about 2 miles away. Or if you want peace and quiet, this place will not disappoint. Good walks on site and locally. 2 independent bathrooms on site with exclusive use. My only recommendation would be would be for slightly wider pitches on the hardstanding . Otherwise excellent. We will be back! Carol and Graham

Nice area , Untidy Site

Stayed for a week , it is lovely area , I was dissappointed as site photographs lead one to expect more , the site is untidy and needs maintenace , and , verges , nettles etc need cutting back . Showers/ toilets are not new but quite good, but the hand dryers were not working . Would I stay again , possibly , however I would check to see if the planning application for work to change some facilities to dog kennnels has been carried out .

Could have stayed longer

Finally got around to writing a review of this lovely site, we stayed there for a week during the May half-term and loved it. Firstly as others have said you must follow the instructions that James sends out, any other route will cause you issues, The site isn't huge and some of the pitches are sloping we were on the smallest pitch alongside the stream but we had lovely views across the countryside. The facilities consisting of 2 separate toilet and shower rooms were clean and the showers were plenty hot. But the best thing was just how peaceful it was although there are 3 lodges and a huge motor home nearby they didn't make the site feel crowded. The site is ideally located for Stroud and Bath both of which we visited. There is plenty of walking from the site and loads of lovely villages to explore in the vicinity. Definitely, a site to be revisited.

Untidy site

Just had a week here, I agree with others there is only one way to access the site, follow the instructions. The site is a bit maze like going round the properties and holiday homes to access the pitches on a rough track. Some of the pitches require levelling blocks and are quite small (had to park on sloping grass at side of pitch). The TV reception was very poor, some days you could get a picture other days there was no signal. The site looked a bit unloved and we never saw the owner/site manager it was all done by a separate booking system. The countryside round the area was lovely with some fantastic views not far from the Cotswold Way.

Top class

Just had a lovely peaceful 7 nights at this top class CL. Plenty of walks with stunning views, nice hard standing pitches and shower and toilet block a bonus. It’s very wise to follow James’ comprehensive directions unless you like steep hills and narrow lanes. His given route is the only suitable one.

A beautiful site, perfect for walkers!

We have been at this lovely tranquil site a number of times (with and without dogs) and we have loved every stay! The countryside walks are endless, with public footpaths snaking throughout the area. Coaley Woods (up behind the site) has walks in all directions and a walk to Coaley Peak (around an hour up through the woods) is a must as the far reaching views to the Cotswold hills and valleys, the Severn Vale, the Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons are truly breathtaking! There is also a National Trust owned Woodchester Park just over the road from the Peak which has its own woodland valley and includes a gothic mansion. We also brought our bicycles and discovered there are plenty of quiet country roads to explore. There is a pub called the Old Fox in Coaley which serves meals and draught beers and also a Community shop which is about 30-40 minutes walk. The owner James always makes us feel welcome and we really appreciate his relaxed and laid back style. The site itself is great, situated on the edge of a farm and has 5, well spaced flat, hard standing pitches. It benefits from 2 separate showers/toilets which is a real plus on a CL and is such good value overall! If you want a completely chilled out break in the beautiful Cotswolds area, then this is the place for you!

Lovely quiet site

We stayed at Ham Farm for 6 nights from 6 July, just after the reopening from covid Lockdown, not fancying a club site. The site is on the edge of a working farm right next to fields with cows and calves for company. It is really quiet and peaceful with views over fields to the river Severn There are 2 showers and toilets for the site that were very clean and tidy, I would suggest a couple of hooks on the wall near the shower to hang towels and maybe a plastic chair, otherwise it's perfect. Pitches are not close together and are easy to access, they are narrow hardstandings so that the awning is on nice soft grass. Access to the site from the M5 is fine if the book directions are followed without satnav. Do not try any other way! There is a good Tesco about 5miles away in Cam with my Sainsbury and Liddle in Dursley. All in all we would highly recommend a stay here.

Excellent value for money!!

We used this site as a base whilst walking the Cotswold Way. Easy access from the M5 (ensure you follow directions in book - NOT Sat Nav) - slightly narrow on final stretch but OK. Pitches are at the back of the farm with a lovely outlook over open farmland - we had cows and their calves to entertain us. Each pitch is hardstanding - quite narrow so any awnings would be on grass. Very clean toilet/shower. Recycling on site. Large field available to exercise dogs but plenty of quiet lanes and footpaths leading away from the site. Ideal for a long stay or an overnighter if you're travelling up or down the M5. At £15 per night, would definitely return.
