Top notch CL

Stayed here for a week in July after returning from abroad, Richard popped over later to apologise for not being there when we turned up but no matter, the board in the info hut gave our name and pitch location. What a gem of a site with its own airstrip, we saw Richard give a display twice whilst there and the various comings and goings of other aeroplanes throughout our stay. Pitches were very large, facilities excellent with free showers, dishwashing area and two WC's. Dog walk on site with a well maintained path with an invitation to also use the adjacent fields when no livestock on them. Cycle routes along quiet country roads with a nice one down to the Military canal and beyond. Eating out no problem with the closest pub doing excellent food at a good price just one and a half miles away, 'The White Horse' at Bilsington.

What a Gem of a CL Site

What can I say apart from fabulous, first time in this part of the country, we had a fantastic time, the CL was perfect, Richard was so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for him, the pitches excellent , superb hot shower and toilet facilities, and the cherry on the cake an air display from Richard. We will definitely return to the CL again.

Lovely site

Still quite an open site, but this will improve as the recent planting matures. Generous sized pitches with fishing on site in a couple of ponds. The facilities are good and clean with a generous washing up area. The 5 pitch CL is allied with another 5 pitch area which share the facilities. Very peaceful, although we unfortunately missed Richards air display which had happened the day before our arrival! Richard is really laid back which sets the tone for the site which I would highly recommend

Best Site So Far

As all the other reviews , Richard a lovely fella with a top-notch site . Friendly welcome , spotless facilities (gas showers , so hot and powerful in a large enclosure so no danger of banging elbows) , fishing on-site , small planes to watch occasionally , and gorgeous views .Well situated for South and East Kent , we travelled easily from here to Canterbury , Margate to Dover and down to Hastings . Large Tesco superstore about 10 mins drive . Would highly recommend .

Wow, what a little gem!

What a fantastic site set in amazing countryside. Richard made us very welcome and explained everything that his site had to offer. Lovely large pitches with the most fantastic views over the lake and surrounding countryside. Brilliant walks on the site’s extensive grounds which our little dog absolutely loved. Great well thought out facilities which were always kept lovely and clean. Richard treated us all to an aerobatic display in his bi-plane which was much appreciated by all. On our evening dog strolls we also had the added treat of watching a beautiful barn owl flying over the fields. All in all, fabulous!

Friendly,Peaceful and well situated site

This is a new CL site which has been very well thought out. The owner ( Richard ) is very friendly, helpful and dog friendly. You are likely to be greeted by a rather large German Shepherd called Dylan who is as calm and friendly as the owner; Richard. If you are lucky, Richard will give you a demonstration in stunt flying in his own plane; which is kept in a hangar on site. My wife and I had a lovely stay and most definitely intend coming back soon. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Great new site

We were welcomed by Richard and his dog on arrival who explained everything we needed to know for our stay on his CL. It is a new site right next to a private runway and you can tell that Richard has worked very hard to get it to the standard it is. Lovely pitches close to the fishing pond which will eventually be privately separated off from each other, as new hedging has been planted. The showers and toilet block are kept clean and tidy. The added bonus is the free wifi. We watched a group of para-gliders one morning, which was very interesting. My husband fished a couple of times and caught some nice tench, Another bonus was the fishing was free. Definitely a site not to be missed. Thanks for a great stay.

Loved it here!

Stayed here for a week end of May/early June and fell in love with the place. It’s such a well thought out site in the way the pitches are set out, lovely clean toilets and showers plus the added weekend bonus of watching the light aircraft come and go. Nothing was too much trouble for Richard, he met us on arrival and showed us around. Beautiful site, beautiful views and the most beautiful dog! Unfortunately we had to leave a day early due to a death in the family and Richard even offered a night in credit next time we go but we won’t take it as it wasn’t down to him but we will definitely be returning ❤️

Best Site So Far

Easy to find , easy access , great warm welcome . Richard explained everything and showed us around . Brilliant site by fishing lake and small airfield , lovely scenic views and get to watch Spitfires passing over most days !! Showers (gas not electric) and toilets lovely and clean with quality toilet paper , soap and hot & cold water . Separate Ladies and Gents with same facilities . Also Motorhome emptying point and outside dish washing area with hot and cold .Can't comment on fishing as I don't partake but I was told by another caravanner that lake/pond was full of Tench and the fishing was free ! Can't recommend enough and I will definitely return .
