One of the best.

Wonderful welcome, first time we have been offered a cup of tea and cake on arrival.....bliss. The most friendly owners, nothing too much trouble. Excellent toilet/shower. What more can I say, go and enjoy for yourselves.

Truly wonderful CL

Just returned from a lovely weekend. This CL is really outstanding. The site is well cared for, and the toilet / shower facilities are excellent. Lashings of hot water. Site owners even treated us to cupcakes on arrival. Thank you. A couple of points to note. Field has a gentle slope, so bring some blocks if you want to be level. Car parking in Ely is free. Lots of room at the Maltings car park by the river on Saturday. If you are visiting Ely - stay here!

Wonderful CL

Stayed over August Bank Holiday weekend and there is not really anything we can add to the other reviews as the others have said it all. We have added this CL to our "will come again list" Large pitches - ours was perfectly level and the others looked fairly level. Excellent facilities -including well signed recycling bins - shame that some people chose to ignore the request to wash cans and remove labels. Coming from an area that is hot on recycling I was amazed that people do not wash out cans and plastics - no doubt they would soon complain if the bins were smelly.

Agree with all reviews

I can only agree with all the other reviews. We have been using this site since just after its inception as it's close to where my daughter lives. We're on first name terms with Andy and Silvia and the children know us too now. Who needs club sites when CLs are as good as this?

Just Brilliant

This is a relatively new CL, and if anyone is thinking of setting a CL up, come along here and see how it's done. There's not a lot we can add to all the other excellent reviews other than to reiterate that it's wonderfully peaceful, spaceous and that the toilets and shower are kept spotlessly clean. We've never been greeted with a cup of tea on arrival before, ( a nice touch) but that's all part of the great service provided by Sylvia and Andy. Highly, highly recommended.

So welcoming

This was our very first camping trip. We have a two year daughter and were not sure how she would take to sleeping in our camper van. So we chose a site in our own village for the first time. We had never been to the site before and were surprised by what was tucked away on a road we drove down every day. The owners were really friendly and so helpful. Andy helped my husband put the awning up. The assistance was very welcome. I was concerned about the noise my daughter would make if she was unhappy at bed time (which she was) but the pitches are well spaced out and our fellow campers said they didn't hear anything. The owners and fellow campers we really supportive regarding this and it really took the strain off us. The owners even offered the use of their own bath to help keep up her bedtime routine. There is a small building with a toilet, sink and shower which was always spotlessly clean and you needed nothing more because there are only five pitches. There is a second toilet but I didn't use it. There was a hen run and a toy car and mini slide which kept my daughter amused for ages. The view across the field was lovely. Other sites will have a lot to live up to. The village is lovely with two pubs ( I love the Thai food at The Plough) a pretty church a friendly shop or two and a nature reserve to walk around. There are several NT sites within easy reach. There is a good bird reserve at Welney WWT. Ely is walkable but its about four miles to the centre, if you drive parking is free. The cathedral is fantastic even if you don't go in but if you go late (after 4:30/5 ish) they don't charge for entry. If you go to the river there is a lovely walk out beyond the railway line (Littleport direction) Peacocks tea rooms is a must. After all that return to a quiet and relaxing friendly camp site.

Feel totally chilled! :-)

Just had a 3 night stay at Heatherfield and what a lovely stay it was. Friendly site, facilities good and nice and peaceful. Caught bus into Ely which was nice but felt a visit to the cathedral rather expensive with the extra charges on top to see individual areas, so went to the Oliver Cromwell museum which was very interesting. After doing some shopping at waitrose got taxi back which cost £6 not bad. Next day had a nice walk round the village and visited the 2 pubs the Anchor and the Plough. Also went in the shop. :-)

Best CL ever!

This was our second stay at this lovely CL, and like the other reviewers, we were welcomed by the owners with tea and cakes, everything is brilliantly organised and spotlessly clean, on the edge of a nice village with a good local shop, Ely in easy distance, and a lovely area to explore. Perfect!
