first class cl site

on arrival we was greated by andy and sylvia with tea and cakes. this site is first class you could not want more from a cl site. the main toilet/shower on the field is first class and spotless, and there is another toilet and wash basin just as you enter the site also spotless. plus by the main toilet/shower there is the cemical waste and grey water points. plus there are five bins all set out for you to use for recycling your your rubbish. the ground is well maintained and there are two hard standing pitches now. there are four water taps and 5 electric hook ups that are 16 amp. there are some great walks by the site and a few shops that are not to far away. the views on the site are nice looking over farm land to the rear of the site. you are only about 3 miles from the town so not to far. i would recomend this site and cannot fault it at all. a big thankyou to andy and sylvia and all there famially for making us feel so welcome.

Great site for local and near by attractions.

This site is great for visiting both Ely and other places of interest in the Cambridge area. Ely itself is a very interesting town with plenty of shops, riverside walks and a magnificent cathedral. We caught a train from Ely to Cambridge (£12.90, for 2 adults & 2 children, off peak return) to look around this amazing city with all its historical colleges and much, much more. Couldn't fault the (slightly limited) clean and modern facilities and friendly owners. Would certainly use this site again.

Superb CL

We spent a night here while touring in our motorhome over Easter and would have loved to have spent much longer. Andy met us with tea and homemade cake. Although very cold the welcome could not have been any warmer. When we asked Andy about buses into Ely (as we didn't want to find parking there for our motorhome) he said that the bus service was poor but likely to be non- existent that day as it was Easter Monday and said he would give us a lift in. Thank you Andy -we had an excellent time in Ely and got a taxi back. Andy also advised us which pitch would be best for our motorhome. There are no hard standings but the site is very well drained, so we had no problems( there is one gravelled area which could possibly be used as a hard standing). We had lovely views over the neighbouring fields. The site is well laid out and the little shower room / loo was spotless What more could anyone want from a CL

Lovely stay

We arrived at midday and were met by Sylvia. She offered us coffee & cakes as soon as we got there. She gave us advice about which pitch would be best, as it had absolutely tipped it down the day before. We set up, she brought the cakes and coffee over. It was lovely. We met Andy the following day, and I have to say they are very nice, genuine people. Both gave helpful advice, the site was well set out, it was quiet and there was plenty of room. Ely has plenty of shops and coffee houses. We will definately be staying again. Thanks Sylvia and Andy.

The template for great C.Ls

Huge pitching area, flat, easy access to hook-ups and water taps, spotless loo/basin/shower with another loo/washbasin as back-up. Pretty much says it all really, throw in the welcoming cups of tea and the excellent cup cakes, easy access and huge skies, and the site is difficult to fault. We`ve marked it down on a couple of points because it would be nice to have a pub that did good food and ale within walking distance, and as nice as Ely is, anything else requires a car journey. If you just want a place to veg out though, you need look no further. Andy, Sylvia and family must surely be the nicest family to run a site, and we can only thank them for the generous hospitality and wish them every success with their venture. If all CL sites were of this standard and this welcoming we would never use a CC site, it really is that good.

September stay

We have to say that Andy and Sylvia have got things exactly right. The most friendly welcome we have ever received. Their willingness to oblige, the cleanliness and upkeep of this site is certainly the best CL we have ever visited. Good luck for the future to you and your family, We will return to the area one day and without a doubt will book this CL. Peter & Susan (14,15 & 16 Sept)

GREETED WITH AN OFFER OF TEA? - OH YES!!

My wife and I wanted to visit Ely Cathedral so searched the sites database and came upon Heatherbield. We submitted our enquiry and were amazed at the speed of response from Andy & Sylvia. In a very short time we were booked and ready to go! 2 days before leaving home an accident put our plans awry so I contacted Sylvia by e-mail explaining our problem. No problem says she - your revised dates work just as well. Found the camp site sign and turned into the driveway, to be greeted by one of the younger members of Sylvia's family who went to fetch mum. Sylvia made us feel really at home from the minute we met her and yes, she did offer to make us a cup of tea! Andy showed up up and between them they explained the site to us and one of their "junior assistants" went to open the gate for us. Everything was made so easy, from the pitch size - with electric and water - to an explanation of where to catch the bus into Ely. We've experienced good and not so good CL sites in the past. This one takes the Gold Medal. Thanks again to you both and we look forward to visiting you again

What a Lovely CL

We were greeted by Andy upon arrival at their CL, with hot drinks, juice for my 9 year old and a tray of cupcakes, a perfect start to our stay!! Great facilities, toliet and shower superb, very clean and tidy site. Our son loved going off to feed their chickens on site. We love cycling and the location was perfect for that, we cycled into Ely on a number of occassions and even ventured over to Wicken Fen on our bikes approx 19miles round trip mostly off road which was great. Cambridge is not far, Godmanchester was nice and we had some lovely fish and chips there. Upon departure we got another batch of cupcakes for the journey home, lovely!! We really do wish Andy, Sylvia and family all the very best for the future, we will certainly be returning!!
