Ease of arrival/welcome

I wonder if we've now been spoiled.

It was a very impressive first experience of staying at a CL. On the phone and on arrival the owners were charming, easygoing and very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there. The field itself is huge, set into farmland and very peaceful. The toilet and shower room was very well appointed and always clean (and good to know there was another loo, too). There was a large separate space for children to play. We are reluctant cyclists (we often take our bikes on our trips and end up bringing them home unused) but we did get out on them this time and enjoyed our venture into Ely (about 2 or so miles each way). We had drives out to Downham Market (where we found Downham Fryers to be a fantastic chippie with a large seating area and very friendly staff) and the Wiken Fen National Trust site. We had a very good Thai meal at the Plough at the far end of the village and were glad of the convenience store that was open till 10pm every day. I am a soft-touch for anthing cake related and was delighted with the two gorgeous cupcakes that Andy brought out to us as we were packing up to leave. I can only hope that the bar hasn't now been set too high for us for CL visits in the future.

Well Worth a Visit.

We had a very pleasurable and relaxing stay here, has the largest pitches I have ever seen, 2 sides of the field are open, gated entrance and the amenities were excellent. If I had a 'grumble' it would be with Cambs council, the bus service to and from Ely was non-existant.

THANK YOU FOR GREAT WELCOME

A relly great new site set up my the owners Andy and Sylvia who really are pleased to meet and greet you when you arrive, In fact on booking Sylvia had said they would be out so just make yourself at home....within minutes of starting to set up site Andy's mum who lives a couple of doors away was there to greet us...FANTASTIC! Site was very well maintained and spotlessly clean - The Cathedral town of Ely is just a couple of miles away and it is possible to spend a whole day if not more investigating it's nooks and crannies and of course not to be missed is the Cathedral itself....a spectacular building. Sue and I wish Andy and Sylvia the greatest wishes on their new venture and certainly if the welcome and greeting is anything to go by HEATHERBIELD will be a fantastic success! We will certainly visit again. Matt and Sue P.S. Thanks Sylvia for the parting cup cakes they went down a treat as we set off home.
