Good overnight stop

We just made an overnight stop here. It was easy to access and had good hardstanding pitches. Facilities are fine and there is a toilet too. Would be very happy to spend longer there.

Upton upon Severn Blues Festival July 2022

Stopped here for The Upton upon Severn Blues Festival and had a taxicab to the village. The owners were there once or twice and été friendly.

Tranquility

After excellent communication before our stay we had a lovely welcome from David and Lynne on arrival. A really peaceful rural location, just what we were looking for. Dog friendly and a good spacious level pitch - we will be back.

Peaceful and horsey

Lovely quite CL with characterful horses to watch. Was worried the owner might come early to see to the horses and be noisy but she's super quiet, even leaving the car outside. Didn't even know she's been apart from the horses being moved and a bag of carrots left on the bike rack for us to feed them with. Pitches reasonable size with tap nearby. Lovely walkes to The Swan pub at Hanley Swan for coffee and fudge or a "next level" Sunday lunch. Site has two toilets in the stable which were very clean and well stocked. One note- there is planning application in to change the site to 6 pitches and 10 statics which might entail noise/upheaval in future. Hopefully the site will close during this period if granted.

Perfect little site!

I stayed here recently for five nights and really loved it. Access with a caravan is easy provided you follow the owners' directions and the pitches are level. EHU is available and has a 16 Amp rating. Other facilities are fairly limited but there is a decent toilet block and satisfactory chemical waste disposal. It is quite close to a road but this doesn't carry much traffic so the general tranquility of the area is not much affected by it. Apart from being a caravan site the area is devoted to horses which I believe to be owned by the Herberts and there is a paddock and stable block. I was sited very close to the paddock with three horses in it but quite enjoyed watching their antics, even though I am not a particularly horsey person. Apart from the odd neigh or snort they were very quiet. As an aside, that same paddock was home to plenty of rabbits but they didn't seem to come onto to the site. The owners are very friendly and were extremely accommodating when I asked to stay for an extra night. I didn't have my dog with me but there were plenty around and it certainly seemed dog friendly. There are loads of interesting things to do in the area, with the Malvern Hills, Upton upon Severn and Tewkesbury all being within easy reach. There are several small villages nearby with shops and pubs. On the whole it is difficult to find fault with this site. I would definitely go there again if the opportunity arose.

Great CL with very friendly owners

Great CL with good facilities. We had been walking on the Malverns for the day and it was a short drive to this site. Very friendly owners both on making our booking and arrival. Lovely to have onsite toilets and a small area to sit if you don't want to sit in your van! it is close to the road but the traffic is minimal and it didn't bother us. Nicely spaced out with hardstanding or grass pitch depending on your preference. We will be back!

Enjoyable

Easy arrival , just what we like space clean the rustic wc with wash basin, practical facilities positioned well, the gentleman who referred to drinking tap being used for a hose at stable, the sign has been removed and you can use tap near by which just for drinking water, although I was ok with it. Thought the covered area with table and two chairs lovely idea so is the map on the wall. Walk into Upton 45 minutes the other way Inn at Welland for fine dining, but we sat outside for drinks and that very nice, about 15 minutes walk. Clive’s pick your own with cafe enroute to Upton 25 minutes, looked very nice. Upton nice seating areas by river go over bridge to Marina great pub there and very cheap. Anchor in Upton full of character not too expensive, food looked good. Go to Herberts welcoming hosts.

A Decent Adults only CL

If approaching from Upton look out for the "40" mph sign and the Inn at Welland is just on the right hand bend. Turn right here and follow instructions. The site is indicated by 4 posts either side of entrance but the CL sign is not easily seen as it's set back. If coming from Ledbury way carry on towards Upton when in Welland. Look out for Church on the crossroads and the Inn is at the end of the long village. Turn left here. The entrance to the site is wide and through a metal gate. There are up to 11 pitches available, 4 grass, 7 H/S. The H/S pitches are quite close together around the stable block (which houses the toilet) and the Elsan (waist high emptying point) and rubbish bins, including recycling, are to side of this as well. The Grass pitches are at the top and some along the side in a "L" shape. They tend to have more space between the pitches. 2 of them have water tap access behind them. A third can reach a water tap but you'll need a splitter. Some trees provide shade for those at the far end but only in the morning otherwise almost all pitches are in the open. The grass pitches are a typical field, some slight bumps but we found a way to pitch flat. Wifi signal was good and assume TV was as well as we could hear one or two going. Some of the photos shown are now out of date. There is a Horse paddock, containing 3 horses when we were there, some of them the owners, and this is on the left hand side as you enter. This takes up over half of this area. There is sufficient room to let Fido have a first thing or last thing at night stroll behind the Hardstandings. The owners have erected a "Mobile" home for themselves in the top left hand corner and have also pitched their caravan right next to it but seem to have a dwelling nearby as they disappeared for a few days but returned to the horses daily. There were 8 pitches occupied during a weekend but we did find ourselves alone for 1 night in mid week. As we were at the far end and away from everyone it didn't impinge on us. We were however a bit miffed to return one day and find a padlock with a combination lock on it. We hadn't been told by the owners of this and as they had left to go to their house on the Monday we were fortunate that there was 1 other unit on site and the member was able to give us the combination number. All in all a decent place to gain access to several points of interest including the Malvern Hills, Worcester and Upton. The lane outside leads to Upton in about 2 miles but isn't busy. The showground is also within a mile or so. Malvern Hills are less than 10 minutes away in the car.

Perfect for Us

This was a lovely quiet site with basic facilities which suited us just fine. The site location was great for accessing the towns we visited: Great Malvern, Upton-upon Severn, Pershore, Ledbury and Evesham. There was a choice of grass and hard standing flat pitches - I believe all with EHU and some with water too (otherwise water by the toilet block). The owner, Lynne, was very friendly and helpful. We didn't try terrestrial TV but 2 bars of EE's 4G gave us adequate streaming capability. We'd recommend this site for a quiet stay. Listen out for the green woodpecker which visits - every day when we were there (July 2021).
