Perfect in every way.

We stayed here for a week in August - despite which it rained, as it does in the area, for much of the time. It's easy to rate a site positive when the weather's good but the true test is when it isn't! Although with the simplicity of facilities that you expect with a CL, Heron's Wood had everything - easy to find [use their directions - not SATNAV!!] and very easy to enter. Your pitch is marked but we had a warm welcome too. Quiet and with view of the valley from the top of the sloping field relaxing after the M6 battle took minutes. Lancaster is 10-15 minutes, the M6 the same so whatever you want to access its easy and quick. Practical bits - good electric, easy water and waste disposal and clean toilet. Firm well drained ground. We will definitely be back.

A "Little" Gem

An excellent CL in an elevated position above the road. Little does not describe a large polt giving excellent spacing between Vans. The welcome from both Mr & Mrs Grayston is very good but low key with Pitches being allocated prior to arrival.  The grass  is kept short - Very handy in our wet summer so far- and toilet is imaculate. Excellent pub within walking distance although road bends and no footpath . Bus stops at the gate for Lancaster or Knot End for Ferry to Fleetwood.

Handy site

We stayed on this lovely site for four nights with our four dogs. The weather was very windy and very rainy (being the tail end of a hurricane). Even though we were on grass, the ground was not sodden - very well-drained - and we had no problems whatsoever getting on or off. We just had to be careful going through the gates with our large caravan, but no problems. Clean and tidy site with recycling facilities. Large space for walking the dogs. Yes, you can hear the noise from the road, but it didn't disturb us. Extremely handy for exploring the Forest of Bowland - beautiful countryside. Would definitely stay there again. Had to be a bit careful not to use too many electrical items at once as hook up is 10amps.

Cracking Site

We stayed at this site for a week in July 2014 as part of our eight month tour of England.  Cath provides a warm welcome and there is a useful information hut.  The site itself is well maintained and set in a large field with attractive views.  There are footpaths next to the site so it was easy for dog walking and there are plenty of things to do locally.  We found the site to be quiet with very little noise from the road.  You can see our walks and visits to places of interest on our blog www.twodogsandanawning.co.uk

Excellent!

What a fantastic site this is.5 minute walk to a charming pub. large spacious field, quiet ( even though the road is busy we heard no noise and we are really FUSSY! about peace and quiet),close to Glasson Dock and lots of other attractions. The owners are very friendly. We had to cancel our initial trip due to family circumstances and the owners did not mind at all even though we offered to pay them. We really felt like valued customers and will definitely recommend and return to this lovely site.

Nice little site

The entrance to this site is a bit narrow but its up a tarmac drive so shouldn't pose any problems.  The site is on grass but seemed to be well drained.  The site has a toilet that can be used but no shower. There is a bus which will stop at the bottom of the drive if you request it to do so, and services into Lancaster are frequent. My only criticism of this site is you do get a fair bit of noise from the road at the bottom of the hill.

Gem of a CL

This is a gem of a CL. The situation is gorgeous and overlooks great countryside. The owners are helpfull, and look after you really well. The area is lovely, and lots of walks near to the site. The Stork Inn is just a 5 minute walk away. Handy for Lancaster, and Glasson Dock is a charming old port.

Excellent CL in a great location

We visited this CL for 2 nights in October and we're very lucky to have some glorious weather on our full day there. A very warm welcome awaits you from these very friendly and helpful owners, who come round to see if everything is OK and pass on tips about the local area. The site is easy to find and even though we arrived in the dark, it was easy to find our pitch (marked with our name) and set up quickly. The cycle way and footpath from Condor Green is excellent and follows the Lune back up to Lancaster (about 4 miles). We walked by this route and caught the bus back, which stopped right outside the CL on request. There is also a lovely pub. a 10 minute walk from the site (The Stork) with good food, including some South African recipes, which was a first for us. All in all, a very relaxing weekend and we will definitely be back in the near future.
