Tranquil, fabulous walks from site.

Just returned from a 9 night stay. Fabulous, peaceful location. No road noise, just the occasional tractor. Directions were great, easy to get to. The grass was short, decent sized field and despite some rain my front wheel drive car had no problems getting on or off. The walks from site are fantastic, about a mile up a track and you're on the wild and wonderful moors. Happy, freindly owners, great system in place for arrival. There were some chilly ish days when I had heating on but didn't go over the included electric. (Fridge, hot water and a halogen oven all on electric.) My kind of site, highly recommend if you like peace and tranquility.

Lovely well-maintained site

Our first visit, four nights in August in our caravan. We found the site very easily, following instructions on their website and taking a detour which avoids Sutton Bank, on which caravans are prohibited. Roads are good if narrow in places, but we are in the countryside. High farm was easily found and the CL is opposite the farmhouse on a large grassy field. At the gate we found a card with pitching instructions, and a card to monitor our electricity usage (10 units a day are free, after that it's charged). I can't rate the pitch highly enough. it was very grassy and very large with great views overlooking the countryside around. It is a bit sloping, so ramps are recommended, but we had no problems levelling. Once installed we were visited by the family and their friendly Spaniel to check we were settled in. On the field there is a small facility at the end of the field. this houses a clean and modern loo and shower (£1 per shower), plus a water point, recycling, and grey and black water disposal. There are lots to visit in the area, but we were there for hiking so apart from a day in Helmsley we were in the surrounding countryside, with a couple of good walks from the pitch itself. We found the free 10 units sufficient to cover all our needs, mainly hot water and cooking using the electric ring on the hob, though it was warm so minimal heating. The site has a ban on heaters/appliances in awnings, though again we weren't affected. We owed 7p at the end of four nights. Highly recommended, and I'm sure we'll be back.

Perfect CL in beautiful surroundings

Enjoyed a 4 nights stay over the Jubilee bank holiday. The CL is set in a beautiful location, with fantastic views: the sunsets are amazing! Large pitches with plenty of room for our three children to play. Super clean facilities. We would love to return!

Excellent Choice

We spent 7 days at this site, and used it as a base for travelling to local towns including Whitby & Robins Hood bay (40mins). The drive to these towns was easy and through the North Yorkshire Moors which revealed further beautiful places to visit. The site is situated at the end of a long lane at the top of a hill revealing a beautiful views and fantastic outlook from the caravan. It is three miles into the nearest town Helmsley which is a great location to eat/drink as well as taking in a few useful shops and a micro brewery. There are also other villages very close by with pubs and small shops. Despite the great restaurants and pubs, we still looked forward to getting back to the van to watch the sun set and take in the views. The campsite is clean and well laid out, requiring ramps in places to level the van but only down to slight raises in the ground, nothing troublesome. There is an excellent small single shower block and toilet and waste facilities are in easy reach. Our hosts were welcoming and had great local knowledge to help with our route planning, there was even locally laid eggs available which tasted great, Despite being at the end of a road, there were cycle routes and walks straight from the camp site, so you can still give the car a rest if needed. We will return to this site again.

A GEM OF A SITE

On arrival you are struck by how clean it is and the peace ,the facilities are immaculate and something i especially like are the large pitches ,The owners are very helpful and pleasant :) lovely walks and great scenery , I have never seen so many beautiful little birds along the hedgerows which i was later told were called yellow hammers. We were not far from Helmsley which is a lovely market town where we had a fantastic takeaway indian meal which we highly recommend and the fish and chip shop is wonderful lol ( we were on holiday after all ) Pickering is not too far either and i highly suggest you pay a visit. Overall this site is def worth staying at you will not be disappointed ,we have booked to go back shortly and i am really looking forward to it,I am hoping to take a lot more photographs of this lovely site and surrounding area.
