Beautiful Site

We stayed at High Farm during some beautiful weather in March 2022. Very well organised arrival with instructions on the gate - we knew where to pitch up and were soon welcomed by the family . We bought some lovely fresh eggs from the children at the farm. The pitches are huge and all have great views of the surrounding countryside. Everywhere is well maintained including the shower block which was nice and handy. Lots of lovely places to visit nearby. We visited Helmsley Castle, Rievaulx Abbey and Farndale daffodils.

Super cl if you like to be away from it all

Great cl with walks and cycle routes straight from the site. 2 hard standing pitches. Immaculate toilet and shower (£1 a time). Double wide gated entrance. Great views over woodland. Site and farm are the end of the road so completely away from it all. Great walk up the no access track to the Rigg with stunning views. Owners left us to our own devices. Popped in to check everything was ok and enable us to stay past 12 on departure day as no oncoming bookings. Great weekend in a great place.

This has to be the best cl in the UK!

I'm serious - this has to be the best cl in the UK. Booking was easy and Ailsa was very good. We stayed in August 2021 and had exclusive use of the bathroom - WOW! Firstly, the location is incredible. It's at the end of a long, straight, ascending road leading to the farm and the cl. Consequently, there are no trains and no passing traffic. You are in the heart of the countryside. A walk of about 40 minutes takes you to some breathtaking views (and walks, I believe) of the Moors. So, it's peaceful and beautiful. The pitches are well-kept and absolutely massive. The shower room with shower, sink and WC is immaculate and was the reason for us booking. Helmsley itself is a pretty (but very busy) town and the best sausage rolls we've ever had are to be found in the market square. There are some lovely trips out, eg the museum of life in Hutton-le-Hole, Helmsley Castle and the waterfall at Goathland. Scarborough and Whitby are a 45 - 60 minute drive and Whitby was very busy during the Regatta. We tried to get into Robin Hood's Bay but couldn't find a car park space. To be honest, I think most tourist destinations were heaving in the summer of 2021! We absolutely loved driving around the Moors, stopping and drinking in the view. Pickering wasn't quite the beautiful North Yorkshire town I thought it might have been. The Sunday roast at The Owl in Hawnby was delicious. I definitely recommend the cl at Beadlam Rigg. We feel we've explored the area, but would have liked another couple of days to explore the paths from the Rigg. My family have asked if we can return next summer, so we'll see. I've just been through every cl on the Motorhome and Caravan Club website and this has reaffirmed my opinion that there is nowhere better out there.

Beautifully Kept Rural Sight

Just spent 4 nights at this beautifully kept CL. The owners maintain an excellent website, which gives loads of information about the site and the surrounding area. The website also gives up to date availability and offers electronic booking and payment. The site is next to a farm at the end of a no through road so it is lovely and quiet. There is access straight into the countryside and moors with walking and mountain biking routes straight from your pitch. The owner Aisla is very friendly and welcoming and is on hand to sort any issues which may arise. A gem of a site in the quiet North Yorkshire countryside that we will definitely return to in the future.

A great CL

This was our 2nd visit (October 2021) and like our 1st (Summer 2020) we really enjoyed our time at High Farm. The owners are friendly and helpful. The field is well sized, leaving plenty of space for children to play. Ideal for walks from the site. You can arrive and with supplies not have to drive for a few days. Well worth a visit. We will return.

A perfect country idyll in a great location and everything you need for a relaxing stay when touring.

This is a very well maintained site targeting self contained units, the shower was not available but is very nice. There is the full range of rubbish disposal and fresh water and black water facilities. We were advised to empty our grey water into the hedge row but as we were next to a crop field chose not to and took it with us. Access from the A170 main road is largely single track but its only a short distance and there is a well stocked farm shop nearby on the main road. Thoroughly recommended and would return again.

Lovely CL

Our first visit to this CL but it won't be our last. The site is well maintained with short mown grass and no loose cuttings. Communication with Ailsa was good and the booking process easy via the site's website. Good wi-fi is included. Great views and a good base for exploring the North York Moors. A good range of eateries within a short driving distance. Watch out for the pheasants on the approach road. We have never seen so many! Highly recommended.

8 Nights at High Farm

8 nights in early September. Very much enjoyed our stay. Site very well kept, toilet/shower block excellent. Deep, quiet countryside with view from the site. Eggs excellent and hens entertaining. WiFi intermittent, maybe depending on whether anyone else was using it. Lots of places to visit in the area and walking. Helmsley a lovely town and it's food shops on the market square offer more local produce at much better prices than the farm shop at Beadlam Grange (no connection with High Farm) - the same punnet of strawberries was cheaper by about £1.50.

Great location to explore the area with lovely views

Very well kept working farm. Very peaceful with great views. The paddock where we pitched was perfect and was very well maintained. The owners were really friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back there again.

Neat little find….

Managed to get a last minute booking (France trip cancelled) and this was a great find, nicely hidden away but with great views, used our own facilities but a shower is available, ideal spot to travel around and visit places or to just sit and relax…. Which ever floats your boat….. did the Sutton Bank detour as towing a caravan and despite being nervous it is easily achievable with a twin axle….. would happily re-visit when in the area, thanks for a great 5 night stay!
