Lovely Site

I dropped my Adult daughter and boyfriend off here for a couple of nights for a quick break. I had to drop the caravan off for them but was not able to collect until the day after. Mr & Mrs. Ward had no problem with this even offering to move the caravan off-site if necessary for us if the site was fully booked. Very Friendly owners. A really spacious site, in a lovely village. Highly recommend you give it a try as its a great place to stay if your visiting York (15 MIn Drive)

Just about perfect CL

We are just back from a long weekend at Holly tree Farm CL where we had and excellent and restful time. The CL is well run and cared for. On arrival after a five hour drive we were welcomed, sorted out the financials and were given all the relevant information. The greeting and welcome was just right. We spent the next couple of days exploring York and the area, for which this CL is perfectly situated. There is easy access to Grimston Bar park and ride for York city centre. On site there is drinking water, a waste water disposal, electric hookups included in the price. The level grass pitches are well clipped and maintained. There is a pond with Moorhens with chicks in early August and lots of aquatic activity. There is a reasonably nice gastropub (more gastro than pub) within walking distance. Booking seems essential as it was very busy, but with good if pricey food. There is a tiny village shop an an adjacent village. The adults only policy is fantastic, and the other clients I spoke to on site were all very keen on this aspect too. In summary, we could have happily spent a week or longer here. I wish every CL was this good. If you are reading reviews and wondering if you should make a reservation, just book you will not be disappointed.

We will be returning

We had a lovely couple of nights at Holly Tree Farm from 23rd June 2017, with our two labradors. We were welcomed when we arrived and could pick any available pitch - each pitch has plenty of space. The site is adult only, extremely well kept, and very peaceful. We didn't hear any road noise at all. There is electric hook up, water and a CDP. The village pub (St Vincents Arms) is only open certain times of the day and you need to book if you want to eat, however the Grey Horse in Elvington is also just a short walk away and is open all day. A plus for us is that it is dog friendly. Although this site is only a 40 minute drive from home for us, we will definitely be returning. It is a perfect getaway for walking and relaxing.

An absolute gem

We were there from 6th - 11th April 2017.This site is an absolute gem. Superbly manicured grass. Nice level pitches. Water and waste facilities but no toilet or shower... that may put people off that don't like to use their own, but not us. Birds happily wandering around the pond area and the grass. Total peace and quiet, no road noise. And then the massive plus ADULTS ONLY. This site is a must for those adults seeking peace and tranquillity. Of course it's close enough to pop into York and all it offers with its historical places of interest and for those that love retail therapy Monks Cross Shopping Precinct is even nearer. We will be back.

Roomy lawned site, and excellent village pub food...

Ideal for visiting York if you still want to be out in the countryside. Park & Ride just 20 minutes away. Level lawned field with plenty of space. Friendly owners. Some road noise at certain times, but nothing to bother about. Village pub, St Vincent Arms, has a separate bar area for drinkers, and does excellent home cooked food - not cheap - but you get what you pay for. I've never been in a village pub on a Monday night to find it as busy as this one was!

A Real Gem!

This is a super site which is located in a small village to the east of York. It is a super location and the perfect place to stay if you want to visit York, the East Riding, Malton and Scarborough. It is only a few miles off the A64 yet so peaceful and quiet. You can easily be in York in less than half an hour and a super P&R available within 15-20 minutes of the site. We have tried a lot of sites in and around York and this is a firm favourite of ours! The site is extremely well run and beautifully kept by the owners. We only live a short drive away from this site but after a busy week it's just bliss! Lots of wildlife to watch on the pond and each caravan has a lovely amount of room so everyone has their own privacy. Every time we've stayed here all the other visitors have been really friendly and helpful! Definitely worth a visit!

Tranquil

An attractive peaceful and tranquil site located in a pleasant village setting. The site is very well maintained bordered by rustic farm buildings, trees and a small pond. All basic utilities are provided with electric points servicing each of the well spaced pitches.  Access to the site is easy via a large gated entrance adjacent to the owner’s home.  The owners, Mr and Mrs Ward are very welcoming and helpful, ensuring a stay at the site is both comfortable and relaxed.

lovely peaceful site

The owners are lovely and helpful and even took the trouble to ring the village pub to see if dogs are allowed. Dogs are not allowed so we had a beer outside but did not have a meal. The site is a very secluded large lawn surrounded by trees. Very pretty and lots of space. Short walk to the village. we did a nice walk to Newton on Derwent, 6 miles in total. Also a lovely pub but no dogs so just had a beer. We shall be back to this haven as it is very close to our home
