Nice little site

The owner was helpful and friendly and the site was easy to access. The field is a little sloping but very nice and the view are great. The toilet is basic but clean and in the field where you park. For the price this is an excellent little site and worth a second visit.

Not made welcome

After arriving, I wandered down to the farmhouse to find someone and the dog walk. A woman appeared and told me I shouldn’t be there as it was private. I explained that we were on the CL and had just arrived. I asked where the dog walk was, to be told there is no dog walk. This despite information on this page saying there is a dog walk from the site. The woman made no attempt to welcome me, in fact she was rude. She told me where I could walk my dog, off site. She repeated again that the area I had dared to venture into was, private. Well, some information on the site would be useful and a sign saying private might help. We left.

Great base for Weymouth

Stayed for 7 nights August this year and found the owner very helpful as I had an issue with my hot water system. Field could do with been cut shorter and bring your levelling blocks. Saying that there are if you walk the field 1st some level pads, would be easier to spot if the field was cut. Enjoyed the fresh farm eggs and kids loved playing on the seesaw on the field.

Lovely site, lovely hosts

Stayed here at the start of our 3 week holiday. Lovely site but easy to miss as on a slight bend in the road. Owners are lovely and our children played with their daughter. Nice to have a toilet but could do with a sink in the room.  Overall a lovely site, perfect for exploring the area. Thankyou!!!!

A lovely little CL

This is a simple, spacious site (with a clean WC) letting you feel very much on a farm, yet surprisingly close to Morrisons and the Co-op! Friendly and helpful owners. Lovely walks - foxes and rabbits come into close view in the evening - and close to Weymouth - probably walkable but we hadn't enough time to try it. Be careful with directions coming from Dorchester - there is a whole new road layout. Use a map and bear in mind it is easy going past Upwey station. Highly recommend it - we discovered we could survive without electric hook-up!

A Dorset Jewel

We booked to stay a couple of nights and stayed a week. A very friendly welcome both on the phone and once we had pitched. A busy farmer always with a cheery wave and time to give you his tips for a great day out. A large field with plenty of space and fabulous views of the rolling Dorset hills. Chocks used but levelling blocks not needed. Newly built WC too. We particularly enjoyed walks from Burton Bradstock NT car park and from Stonebarrow NT car park on the Golden Cap estate.   Excellent location for exploring coast line west and east and for Weymouth and other coastal towns ; West Bay , Charmouth and Lyme Regis. Excellent food at the Elm Tree pub at Langton Herring (dog friendly too) after a beautiful short circular walk looping from the village to the south west coast path and back round.  Nice dog walk too from site across the road past East Farm and to hamlet of Buckland Ripers and back down the road. We love no electric sites like this -quiet ,peaceful and with views.

Holwell farm

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon it is a working farm and the owner was very helpful whenever we spoke. The site is very pretty with the hills around. We would return again.
