Useful site near Bristol

Good CL doing what it says on the tin - easy access on to site, close to M5 so good stop over and handy for Bristol. Helpful owner. Hope to return.

Favourite stopover/retail opportunity

We've stayed here a few times, it's an easy stopover on longer trips away as very quick and easy to get to from the M5. An added bonus is the proximity to Cribbs Causeway, also not too far from Bristol City Centre. Indian restaurant/takeaway handy, and next door to that is a Chinese takeaway - so it ticks all my boxes! The Field View of the title is more like a small meadow with lots of wild flowers, and there's plenty of room to walk the dog. You can hear some traffic noise from the M5, but it's really only a background hum. The pitches are quite secluded as each is surrounded on 3 sides by high hedges, and there is a water supply on each pitch. The owner is very helpful on the occasions we have seen him. It got my vote for this year's CL of the year!

Excellent CL

We recently stayed at Field View for 4nights whilst visiting family in Bristol. The site is very easy to get to and the welcome envelope system works very well as we could go straight to our pitch. The pitches have hard standing with grass on both sides and are large and very private.Drinking water tap is between pitches, and a new elsan point was near completion. The site is close to Motorway and there is some traffic noise but this did not bother us at all.We will certainly be returning

Very pleasant

Had a two night stay here and noted that Oakleigh and Annalisa had made improvements since our last stay in early March. Gravel access road and hard standings installed. Each pitch is very private and the hedges well maintained. Friendly welcome and would not hesitate to go back. You can hear some road but it is not intrusive. Very easy for all Btistol and surrounding area activities and amenities.

Excellent Site coupled with Exceptional Service

The site is extremely well positioned for both stopovers off the motorways and for easy access to Bristol & surrounding area.  The site is straightforward to locate and access.  Booking in/out was a breeze when the instructions provided are followed. The pitch we stayed on (Field View) was huge, yet provided a good deal of privacy.  There was plenty of places to take our dog for a walk. On our walk we discovered the new camping site, which looks awesome.   The owners were very friendly, helpful and when I had a problem with my caravan, came to my immediate rescue.  I recognized that my water pump was drawing water at frequent intervals even though we were not drawing water!  Knowing that Oakleigh (the owner) undertook repair work I rang his mobile to seek advice.  Despite it being a Sunday morning and clearly having many other commitments (being also a working farm) Oakleigh arrived at my caravan in minutes. He identified the fact I had a leak in a water pipe, explained what work needed to be carried out to rectify the problem and within a short time had carried out the repair to my total satisfaction.  Given the average cost of a call out I was expecting a sizeable bill.  Imagine my surprise when all Oakleigh requested was a fiver to cover the cost of the materials he’d used – now that is what I call exceptional service!

Good sites. Accurate site description and information

The only reason I have given 4* for two answers is because I have accurately answered the question I.e.the motorway traffic can be heard (and this was pointed out to us before we booked) but after a while you just zone it out and it didn't keep us awake and the scenery is that of a working farm, again, pointed out to us before we confirmed our booking. Really liked the fact that the water pipe was close to the hook up.  Pitches are huge and hedged so felt quite private We stayed one night and missed meeting the owners, but a lovely note was left on our van whilst we were out to welcome us with all contact details if we needed anything. Overall I would rate as the full 5*

Huge Pitches!

Stayed here 4 nights on route to Wales. We were on Field View. The pitches were very spacious, and separated by tall hedges for total privacy. The site is easy to find, and convenient for the motorway. There is lots to see and do in the area, Clifton Suspension Bridge is spectacular. Some good Natonal Trust properties too. Bristol cathedral is worth a visit. We'll be back!

Convenient site

As we live in Cornwall, this is a handy site to stopover at to break up the journey. Stayed here 3 times now. Easy to find pitch, large private bays, will accommodate largest unit with awning with ease. Yes there is some road noise from the M5, but did not notice it in the van, have to expect noise this close to motorway. Owner very pleasant and helpful. Will defiantly use again when traveling long distance.

Great Owner

Stayed here recently for 4 nights to use as a base for exploring Bristol. Great site, easy access from M5. The owner makes you feel very welcome and checks up to make sure everything is order. Will definitely use again. To the owner of the White Honda(?) and Bailey caravan, who left at 10:00 on Sunday 21st, next time you empty your toilet just as you leave, try using the flush and hosepipe to wash away the waste. You know who you are.

Visiting relatives in Bristol

Just returned from this excellent site, really enjoyed our stay visiting my Son and Daughter in law in Bristol. Excellent site except for traffic noise from motorways very close by, although only really heard them during the daytime did not hear tham at night. Oakliegh visited us most nights of our two week stay, always friendly and helpful. Oakleigh aranged help for a fellow caravaner who arrived with faulty caravan rear road lights and who was only staying one night managed to get Bristol Caravans to help him. We will be stopping here again very soon.
