Perfect peaceful cl

Arrived in the rain for our three night stay but Gloria came straight out to meet us and the rain stopped! She showed me the whereabouts of the facilities, very clean and practical shower 30p and toilet though we used our own facilities. We were forewarned in a previous review about the location of the fresh water tap so filled up our motorhome at the previous campsite. The grass was immaculate, firm and no cuttings left on it which is great. We could pitch anywhere on the large field which meant we were by no means on top of each other. Unfortunately the weather on the third day was abysmal, rain non stop so we decided to head home on our last night to avoid the strong wind and rain predicted for the next day. I was prepared to jump out to open and close the gate on leaving but Gloria beat me to it, bless her. She is a lovely friendly lady and we will be back sometime when the sun is shining to make more use of the lovely site and walks.

Lovely weekend

We have just spent 2 nights at Hurst Farm. On our arrival we were made very welcome by site owner. The grass site was large enough to ensure 5 units could park up with plenty of room for each. The quality of the grass was excellent with cuttings collected. No access to water with Motorhome but we were made aware when booking and we can fill using containers so no problem. Elsan point and rubbish was easily accessible. The site was very peaceful and the views across to Malvern Hills were good. First day we rode bikes into Upton on Severn (3.5 miles) a town with many pubs and shops. We actually sat riverside and enjoyed Fish and chips. Second day rode bikes to Great Malvern (4.5 miles) parked them up and walked up to the beacon and experienced the fantastic views. When we left we visited the Motorhome Show at the Showground (3 miles) We will return to this CL in future.

My visit

I have just spent seven nights at Hurst Farm, after you turn off the main road look to the right and look for a dilapadated barn turn right onto a gravel road and your at Hurst Farm I was met at the gate by the owner and given a warm welcome and shown the lovely well kept site. The toilet was immaculate as was the shower and there is a charge of 30p each time you use the shower which is added to your bill. if like me you are a motorhome owner then you will be unable to fill your water tank near the tap as there is no access for vehicles to get close, I carry a water container so was able to add water to my tank a gallon at a time. The water comes from a spring and is pumped to the surface and has a wonderful taste, also if you are a dog owner dog waste has to be disposed of in a bin on the main road as bin collection is now fortnightly instead of weekly so not hygienic for waste to sit around for two weeks. There is a wonderful nature reserve about two miles away where all the locals exercise their dogs, it was full of wildflowers when I was there, turn right onto the main road and then left just past the post office about a mile and a half down the road turn right and carry on until you see a duck sign turn right and follow the road to the end there is a small car park and parking at the side of the road.

The best cl site

We went to this site on spec and wished we didn't have to go home. The owners are the friendliest lovely couple and you feel very welcome there, always there to have a lovely chat with. There were 4 other vans there and each couple were also friendly. It's a very large field, set up where you like and so each van can spread out or group together. We prefer the grassed set up where you like sites, it feels more like a caravaning holiday. The lawns are kept cut, the owner Gloria does that job along with help from her sister, both using hand mowers. we were amazed to see such a job done by people in their 70's/80's, we won't moan again about mowing our little garden :-) She also keeps very beautiful gardens full of lovely flowers. There is a toilet and basin which were always perfectly clean and a shower in another room which looked really nice. obviously they have a drinking water supply and toilet emptying room plus bins/recycle bins. A nice long road up the hill to the site and a gate at the top. Lovely views and plenty of areas to take dogs on walks. There are take aways within a 5 minute drive away, some deliver and a few local restaurants/pubs. shops not to far away, there is a small shop not far from the site. The local church serves tea and scones Sundays. Gullets quarry/golden valley are just down the road. Not to far to Ledbury/Eastnor/upton etc. Clives fruit farm has a cafe as well as farm shop/butchers and pick your own fruit. We will certainly be going to this site again when we get chance. Gloria and her husband live in a touring caravan by the house at the moment. Gloria's husband had done their house up himself some years ago, including roof/window frames etc but a couple of years ago tragedy struck when their house burnt down, all his hard work gone and now he is doing the house up again, all by himself, bless him. They still keep on going and run the site as well as doing the house. If you're looking for a site in Malvern, this is the one to go to. From Angie and Andy

Spacious peaceful site

Large, well mown grass area with no grass clippings to contend with on dewy mornings! Excellent toilets and shower. Sometimes the blissful peace and tranquility is shattered by a noisy bi-plane overhead and noisy youngsters driving cars or motorcycles along the common.

Excellent CL

Just back from a 3 night stay in our Motorhome. Very friendly owners gave us a nice welcome. A large site so we had plenty of room. Grass was immaculately mowed - more like a bowling club than a field. As a bonus there is a shower(minimal charge) and toilet for members. Easy access to the Malverns - we cycled to the side of the hills then walked from there. Several pubs in easy reach. No hookup but with solar power who needs it. The correct contact number is 01684 310913 The app. still shows an old temporary number (as of today) but the correct number is on the CMC website
