A Little Gem

We have just returned form a 5 night stay at this idyllic little site. Although small, the site is perfectly formed, neat and tidy with spotless facilities. The owner is very helpful and a real expert on the local area. Many walks from the site allow you to make the most of this beautiful part of the country. We are in no doubt that we will return.

Great Break!

We spent three nights last week, at this lovely little site. The facilities are very clean and the site was well looked after. We had a good time here and it is perfect for those that like the great outdoors, the moors are righton the doorstep. Thanks.

Lovely stay

Well we spent a week here in May 2012 and loved it, despite the cold weather that week. I'm just about to book for another week this May. The entrance is tight, but we managed it Ok in our long double axle Laser, just need to slow down and take care. Look for the telephone box on the left hand side of the road and the entrance is immediately opposite. Although the site does have a rally field attached (not used by anyone while we were there) and is next to the garden centre car park, we didn't feel at all overlooked. The facilities are great - and spotless. The village is really interesting (although it does get busy during the day, and is at its best in the early morning / evening). Lots of lovely walks around, and great country pubs in the Moors. Not far for a visit to Rosedale, Robin Hood's Bay, and Whitby, and a rather nice pub 100 yards up the road. What more could you ask for?

Sample the real Yorkshire

This site nestles between the Ryedale Folk Museum and the village church. It's an adults only 1\2 acre plot with views of the moors surrounding the village. Pitches are well positioned and all hard standing. The clean and pleasant modern toilet block has two spacious toilet cubicles with hand basins, one fully tiled shower and a kitchen area with sink/drainer. All have a copious supply free hot water. One cubicle is fitted out for disabled users. The block is unheated and is nevertheless of exceptional standard for a CL. Being in the very heart of the village, it’s only a two hundred yard stroll to the local pub (good food, quiz night first Sun in the month), village shop, garden centre, artisan units and tearoom. The owner is in the second house past the gate and dogs are welcome.
