Close to Stratford

Spent a pleasant couple of nights at this well-situated CL, no more than a few minutes drive from all the delights of Stratford Upon Avon. Be aware that the site entrance is on a 50mph stretch of the A439, but there are warning signs 350m away from the driveway from either direction. The entrance lane is single track and about 400m long but pretty straight, so you can see anybody coming the other way ! The entrance gate to the CL field is at a very tight angle, so if you have a twin-axle like us, make sure you swing wide or risk taking out a gate post ! The field has 3 level pitches near the gate and another 2 or 3 up slope that is anything but flat. Fortunately, Mr Levi found us some wood to help level our van and everything was ship-shape. All services; drinking water, grey water and chemical waste disposal are all situated together. You will be surrounded by sheep and, if you are fortunate, may spot some deer. The bus (X18) runs every 30 minutes through most of the day and goes to Stratford & Evesham in one direction and Warwick, Leamington Spa & Coventry in the other. The main road can be very busy and therefore generates some traffic noise but it wasn't especially noticeable inside the van. Very friendly & helpful owner - thanks for a pleasant short-stay.

Charming and Convenient

We made a late decision to go away for the weekend as friends from out of the area had already booked in to this CL. So in essence we didn't choose it! The site is charming and is situated on a working farm. No stock in the CL, but sheep (and a horse) are in the surrounding field but don't intrude at all so no need to worry about nibbled awnings. The CL has flat areas and areas that also slope, blocks to assist in levelling are placed by the EHUs though not all parts of the CL will require their use. Views are good and you are well enough set away from the road to not see and mainly not hear it either. The disposal facilities are excellent. Clean and well laid out. Do take note of the signs next to the road as you approach the entrance, they give you a useful countdown. Fabulously situated for Stratford u Avon and all that south Warwickshire has to offer. No hesitation in offering five stars.

Lovely peaceful site

We really enjoyed our stay here. The pitch we had was nice and flat but a few are on a slope. The basic facilities were clean and tidy and we had a warm welcome. Lovely views and of course sheep. As we don't have transport once parked it was quite a distance to walk for bus services and I can't walk far but a taxi into Stratford upon Avon only cost £14 return so we could go sightseeing :)

Loved this site, very beautiful, great location!

Ah, what a superb weekend had at Ingon Bank Farm! Great little site, just our cup of tea! The most lovely countryside views on all sides of our caravan and only a 5 minute drive into Stratford. The site has three pitches lower down under a few small trees which are flat but we were really pleased to find our two pitches at the top of the hill of the site, yes on a slope you will need blocks, where we had a huge amount of space and parked our vans end to end with a huge space in between, the views out of every window were lovely, so nice to not be looking at another van, just fields, sheep and scenery! The owner was very helpful and welcoming, we had a T5 van which was struggling to pull the van up the slope to the top of the site, the grass was wet and unfortunately my husband paused when towing and we started slipping and the owner offered to tow us up but we did manage by unhooking and taking it up using the motor mover. We then plugged in and all the electric went off and the owner and another caravan owner were all helping us to try and find out the problem, which in the end was our fridge. Once we knew this we ran it off gas and all electric was working fine but thank you for your help. We booked a secure dog field, in advance which was in the next village of Snittersfield, about 5 minutes in the car, so two of our dogs could have a run off lead, XPC Secure Field, which made the site a fab location for us. At other times I walked the dogs on lead round one of the huge empty sheep fields. It was lovely waking up to the sound of sheep every morning, please bear in mind this is a working farm so there will be animal noise. There is distance road noise, so not silent but the busy road is a massive field away so it is distant, so you are aware of it but I am so sensitive to noise and it did not bother me at all, after all you are minutes from Stratford! The best time was when we were all sat outside the caravans having a bbq and chatting and suddenly in the orchard behind us a badger appeared in daylight and ran across the orchard and down the driveway, we couldn't believe it. Later that evening when we were leaving our friends caravan to go back to ours as one of my dogs started barking and I went to check that all was okay and there were badger cubs playing (although it did sound like they were murdering each other!) but there they were, amazing! All in all we were blessed with the weather, including the most massive thunder and lightening storm one night and will love to go back again! You can't beat the location to Stratford, the pretty well kept site and the sounds of the sheep baa-ing! Thank you, a real gem for us!

Beautiful site

Lovely spacious site. Received a friendly relaxed welcome and allowed to choose our own pitch. Great to be in the middle of a working farm so clost to Stratford. No facilities except electric made for a very peaceful stay. There is a very small amount of traffic noise from the main road. The site is maintained very well and very spacious. We only stayed for one night and didnt get chance to find any walks directly from the site which was a bit of a shame as we have 2 dogs, would like to return to find the walks.

Nice spot

Some pitches nic and flat others on a bit of an incline, busy road at the end of the lane. Possible to walk into Stratford upon Avon along this busy road. Good views of the country side, would go again if in the area

Shakespeare's country

Enjoyed our week stay on this lovely CL. Welcome from Owner of this sheep farm. Excellent facilities. Part level part sloping (take blocks). Convenient to Stratford, historic houses and Globe theatre. Bus into town better than walking in traffic. Free car park just out of town and nice walk into marina area. Met some very nice CC members, lots of sheep and only spoilt by one of most objectionable caravan busy body know-all characters I have ever come across.

Ideal for Stratford upon Avon

We stayed here at the end of May. It was a last minute decision as we were on our way back from Herefordshire and fancied a short stay to break the journey. Booking was easy over the phone and Mr Levi gave me good directions. On arrival there were two other caravans on the site. We chose to site our van on the level ground as you go in. the top part is on a slope so blocks are required. We found the site to be nice and peaceful, apart from the sheep who had just been sheared, but then it is a working farm. Nice walk across the field to the tower where there are wonderful views. We drove into Stratford upon Avon, about 2 miles, there is a free car park on the way which involves a 15 min walk into town or park in the Marina car park next to the Holiday Inn. £4 all day. We found the owners to be very friendly and the site was clean. EHU Water and waste point. Dog friendly on a lead. We will certainly use this site again when visiting the area.

Short Break

We have just spent 4 nights at this CL. Comments made by previous reviewers give a good overall idea of what to expect from this site. The only reason I feel the need to comment is that I'm very sensitive to traffic noise and this site does have background road noise. I had asked the owner on booking if there was any noise from the road and was told no and I do believe that because they live here they genuinely don't notice it but for me it did spoil our break. The sheep are a lot louder but I didn't have an issue with this. I did mention to the owner that we wouldn't have booked if we had known about the noise and obviously there isn't anything they can do about it, it was more to make them aware if anyone else should ask. Unfortunately Mr Levi got a bit defensive about it and said we would be lucky to find anywhere quieter. Well I have to say that we have probably stayed on at least 20 other CLs over the last 3 years and never had any noise from the road. Leveling blocks are definitely required for the 3 pitches in the top field. The site did not suit us personally but I'm sure that it's a great place for most.

Another great weekend!!!

Just spent another great weekend at Ingon Bank Farm CL and having stayed here before, this is situated in a great place to visit Stratford. From the site, it takes just over 30mins to walk in to Stratford or you can walk across the fields or even get on the bus at the end of the drive. You get a great welcome and had some great caravaners pitched with us, which we got to spend sometime with. The CL has everything you would expect and for £12 a night, I think it's great value. The site has 2 areas, with a lower area and then a large field area on a slight slope, which gives you plenty of room and therefore not on top of each other.   The site is well signposted from both directions, which the site is located at the end of a long tarmac lane leading up to the farm and B&B. The site looks over fields, which were full of sheep and this time of year, all the lambs were out and great to hear. We will be back again, and for us, its a site that suits us well.
