This is a lovely location, close to the nice resort of Largs, and with excellent views towards Largs and to Cumbrai right from your window. Each pitch has a bench site from which to admire the view in the sun. Each pitch also has a 16A EHU bollard and a water tap.
On site there is a good restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had dinner and it was good. There is a snack bar/takeaway and a chandlery, which can be good for bits for the outfit, but also has a good selection of clothes and waterproofs. Toilet/shower facilities are excellent.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Access is direct on to the coastal promenade for walking or cycling into Largs. Largs is still a pleasant resort, with a number of attractions including a Viking Museum. Ferries to Cumbrai are every 15 minutes. On the other side there is a bus from the slipway to Millport, the only town. You can take your bikes and cycle all around the island.
You can go along the coast road to Wemyss Bay, another pleasant resort, or take the traditional "Doon the watter" trip on the ferry to Rothsay from here.
We will use this CL again.
My only negative is that the pitch makings are exactly the same length as a car parking space. Too short for most motorhomes. On pitches 1, 2, & 3, this is not a problem, as the overhang does not cause a problem. On pitches 4 & 5, it is a problem. This could be solved by removing the lamp post and changing the ground markings. We managed to get onto pitch 5 sideways with a 7.8m motorhome, which worked, but the pitches could be marked much better, and removal of the lamppost would make it work.
