High quality

Shower block is spotless. Full washing up and washing machine facilities. Hairdryers. Great views. Quiet. We had a glitch with our electrics on arrival, but got good help from staff member. Fresh water and EHU at pitch. Grey (drive over) and black waste disposal on site. Site is tarmac and pretty level overall, but we were on a pitch with a slight dip at the front, so we used our ramps. Pitches are wide with plenty of space between them. Pitches as marked out are not very long, but next to us was a 6-wheeler that must have been 8m+ in length. I would have given 5 stars but for the price.

Great views, convenient and well-serviced but costly

The views across the water to Cumbrae are amazing and there's always something to look at as yachts, dingies and ferries come and go. There are good walks in both directions along easy coastal routes and you can visit Largs or nearby Kelburn Castle and estate with just 20-25 mins walking. All facilities at the marina (washrooms etc) are excellent. Also very helpful to have a restaurant/bar and separate cafe less than 3 mins walk. Pitches have water and electric to each and booking / access etc are all seamless. The only downsides are the price (at £38 all year round it's a costly choice) and the fact that it's essentially just the corner of a car park, with the pitches defined by paint on the ground.

Great but expensive

Very easy arrival and parking not a problem - although might have been more difficult if fully booked as the pitches are quite close together and a larger van parked nearby exceeded the marked pitch area. Views super and dog friendly cafe / restaurant (Scott’s) was great as was the gluten free menu. Used EHU and water. Didn’t explore other facilities due to the torrential rain! Would like to come back but VERY expensive.

Great Location But Too Expensive

An absolute stunning location with beautiful views. The facilities are first class and are shared with yacht owners on the marina. However like others would agree that it is expensive for what is essentially a corner of a car park. The pitches are too small for anything other than a VW type camper but would only be a problem if all pitches were full.

Too expensive!!!

Great location and views, but too expensive for a car park and tarmac. Pitches were not defined and were very close to neighbours. Scott’s Restaurant was excellent.

Great Location With Excellent Views from your Window

This is a lovely location, close to the nice resort of Largs, and with excellent views towards Largs and to Cumbrai right from your window. Each pitch has a bench site from which to admire the view in the sun. Each pitch also has a 16A EHU bollard and a water tap. On site there is a good restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had dinner and it was good. There is a snack bar/takeaway and a chandlery, which can be good for bits for the outfit, but also has a good selection of clothes and waterproofs. Toilet/shower facilities are excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Access is direct on to the coastal promenade for walking or cycling into Largs. Largs is still a pleasant resort, with a number of attractions including a Viking Museum. Ferries to Cumbrai are every 15 minutes. On the other side there is a bus from the slipway to Millport, the only town. You can take your bikes and cycle all around the island. You can go along the coast road to Wemyss Bay, another pleasant resort, or take the traditional "Doon the watter" trip on the ferry to Rothsay from here. We will use this CL again. My only negative is that the pitch makings are exactly the same length as a car parking space. Too short for most motorhomes. On pitches 1, 2, & 3, this is not a problem, as the overhang does not cause a problem. On pitches 4 & 5, it is a problem. This could be solved by removing the lamp post and changing the ground markings. We managed to get onto pitch 5 sideways with a 7.8m motorhome, which worked, but the pitches could be marked much better, and removal of the lamppost would make it work.

Too expensive for corner of a car park

Super views over to Cumbrae. Facilities very clean shared with yachts people. Pitches are to small for size of vans. No privacy with people walking through your pitch or in front of you van, couple feet away. Non yachting people helping themselves to empty pitch water supplies. Ok for night but now to expensive.

Perfect location and views but pitches squeezed into a corner of the car park.

The marina is huge and the facilities were excellent with great bars and restaurants. The showers and toilets are shared with the yachties so are not very close to the motorhome pitches . The chemical point is at the back of reception. The pitches are in the corner of the car park and it felt quite compact. Our motorhome stuck well outside the markings which made it difficult for others to get by us to the other pitches. For the price of the pitches I was disappointed we weren’t given a slightly larger area to manoeuvre.

Fantastic site

Stayed for 3 nights - really good communication pre-arrival with details re directions & access etc. On arrival everything worked seamlessly- number plate recognition allowed us through barrier- got set up with EHU & water & wonderful view over the sea. Great facilities on site & loads to do locally. Will definitely return- can’t praise highly enough- great place.
