Largs Marina CL site

This site is excellent if it meets your needs and requirements. It is located, as the title states, on a working and very busy marina, so don't expect peace and quiet.......but what you get are great facilities and a constant show of powerboats, yachts and dinghy racing, lots to see and some nice views and a very secure location. So much to see from dawn to dusk and very friendly helpful staff. The local on-site restaurant, coffee shop and yacht chandlers are worth visiting, and the site is within walking distance along the prom to Largs, with its busy ferry to Millport and trains from Glasgow full of visitors. Some great fish&chip shops and coffee places. Also not far from the ferry to Arran. It is an excellent CL which met our needs, but for an isolated venue, try the farm north of Largs.

An example for club sites

Great location overlooking the sea. If you like boats this is a fantastic CL The toilets and showers would put most Club sites to shame Staff very friendly and available 24/7 If you like watching boats race then they seems to have races every night, and you can watch them from the comfort of your caravan This was our first CL and if this is an example there will be many more It is true it is in the corner of a car park but if you like boats this is the place to stay If you do not like the noise rigging makes then it may not be the place for you We will be returning

A bit pricey

Other reviewers have covered most of the +/- of the site. I’d agree and would only add the drive over gray water facility indicated in the CMC guide hasn’t been built yet. It was promised as to be built soon from the helpful marina staff who are available 24/7. Not sure if the overall package is to everyone’s budget.

Newly open ..has promise

My wife was attending the 9 day Viking festival in Largs and it was perfect staying here only 1.5 mile away. At the moment there are 4 “pitches” which consists of fenced off part of car park (you get 8 car spaces) Don’t dismiss it lol ...you are within the security of the Marina plus use of the immaculate facilities.. there’s a lovely onsite restaurant and shop plus it’s interesting watch the boats etc You also have free wifi which was running at average 8mb There were Motorhomes parked in car parks outside marina too (we were in a caravan) Water next to pitch along with grey waste drain and chemical waste close by too Everybody super friendly ..there’s a bright future for this site ..heard they might reallocate it to another part ... Will be back ..enjoyed it

Different to our usual.

Back from our stay at the new Caravan Club CL, Largs Yacht Haven. Wellllll its different to what we are used to. A bit disappointed on arrival to find it was a penned off bit of a large car park. No sea view in fact only the back end of cars a lot of yacht masts. £25 a night for 8 spaces in a car park with electric. But it did grow on me as the time passed. Quite a lot going on in the boatyard beside us and good watching the boats coming and going - its just a big camping site for boats. The Toilets and showers were as would be expected in a good campsite, there were laundry facilities also. We dined in the adjacent Scotts Eatery which was very good. There is an onsite coffee shop for the consumables a boat person might run out of. Largs was a 20 odd minute walk away. Would I go back -- yes. Note: Not going to be a place for awnings or things to be put into the ground - its tar.
