Basic CL in a peaceful woodland glade

June 2023 for 2 nights hardstanding + EHU. Let ourselves in through the CCTV monitored gate and into a woodland glade. We were welcomed soon after. 1 traditional outside loo with separate basin and cold tap undercover, you could also use for washing up (we didn't). Lovely area and nice walk down country lanes to village with a couple of pubs and also access to Bradgate Park (with it's big, old oak trees, deer, cafe and viewpoint. We used public footpaths to walk between site and Field Head Hotel and back through old woodlands. TV and mobile data were poor.

Three lovely relaxing days

Lovely peaceful site. Plenty of space, between pitches. Great walk into the village and into Bradgate Park. In the park you walk amongst the deer, we saw a peacock, egrets and herons. The pub in the village is excellent. Monday to Wednesday they do two meals for the price of one. Our meals were excellent. The houses and gardens in the village are lovely all different and beautifully looked after. There is a lovely church. The directions to the site are spot on. We had a lovely welcome when we arrived, such lovely hosts. A good site if you want a stop over when travelling on the M1

A Hidden Gem

This is a beautiful site hidden in amongst woods. On arrival we were met by the owners who showed us to our grass pitch (there are also hard standings). Most usefully two level slabs had been laid on which to site the wheels of the caravan, this meant we only needed to be levelled front to back. The owners also provided attractive tree logs on which to put the jockey wheel and front legs. When we visited, the wood all around was festooned with bluebells and was beautiful. The site itself has a small wash up area, chemical disposal and outside toilet which was a bit basic but adequate. You can walk the short distance into Newton Linford where there are some beautiful houses and have access to Bradgate Country Park. If in the area again we would certainly revisit. Thank you.

An absolutely fantastic site

This site is just lovely, very secluded if you want peace and quiet, can't even see the road and you are so close but such a quiet lane. Walks are everywhere, close to bradgate Park which is lovely. Surrounded by trees and wildlife 1 of the best sites we've stayed on, just loved it. Didn't want to leave a glowing review as we may not get on it when we come through again. And to top it all what a lovely and friendly couple that own it In all would highly recommend

just lovely

Lovely site , although only 10 miles from home we could have traveled for a day and not found such a wonder !. toilets spotlessness clean. electric and water very conveniently placed . access fine, we have a big outfit 42 ft combined . The footpath network is superb with many historical sites and a national trust property within walking distance. Paul and Tracey

Beautiful and spacious little oasis

Lovely spot, well placed for several places of interest, in pcluding Bradgate Park and Ashby de la Zouch Castle. Roomy pitches, whole site surrounded by mature trees. Several hard standings. Bit of aircraft noise noticeable. Friendlyand informative welcome by owner on arrival. Unfortunately the WiFi just does not work. We did try several times and saw others doing likewise. Toilet was fine but very eccentric arrangement of a large outside sink with only a cold tap being the only hand wash facility! We would certainly recommend overall.

Wooded Oasis

The site is lovely and peaceful in a wooded oasis. The tranquility of this place is lovely and there are oodles of lovely walks from the site. Great to escape the hussle and bustle of everyday life and be close to nature. There are some hard standing pitches and some grass pitches. I was on a small hard standing pitch because my van is small. There are larger pitches too. The site facilities include a wash up area, wc, waste disposal point, waste bins. For people with dogs there are some chickens in a pen near the toilets. Just off site across the lane is a place to walk your dogs. You do have to duck under a log and watch out for cars parked on it, as that means you may get shot as they will be culling deer. If your dogs are hunters then you may want to keep them on a lead, as the scent of deer and other animals is strong. Bradgate Country Park is walking distance from the site (allow 20 minutes) and it is full of tame deer and other surprises. A great place for a picnic. Toilets, cafe's and plenty of ice cream are there too. Stoneywell (National Trust) arts and crafts house is just up the road and has beautiful gardens and gives a lovely insight into the arts and crafts movement. Beacon Hill is nearby too and great for a nice walk. You do have to pay for parking there. This area is just north of Leicester city and very posh. The most common cars seemed to be Range Rovers and Porsches. The houses in Newtown Linford have beautifully kept gardens and either large detached houses or pretty little cottages. Would I go back and stay here again? Absolutely and I probably will.

REALLY NICE SITE.

We spent 2 nights here at the start of May. Owners lovely and very welcoming, site beautiful, set amongst trees and at this time of year the bluebells were in full bloom. Pitches very spacious and well spread out. Very quiet and peaceful. Good for access to Bradgate Park. We will certainly stay here again.

Wonderful

We spent 2 nights here and were made to feel very welcome. We booked via telephone and were duly told to stop at the top of the site, where we where met by the owners. This enabled us to pick our pitch with ease. We had everything we needed and to wake up with the bird chorus was lovely. Our two dogs loved the site and the walk, that was recommended to us, also and the bluebells in the surrounding woods were fantastic. Overall our stay was perfect, we went to the Old Post Office for breakfast in the village and this was also lovely. We will return!
