Great CL

Great cl, quiet easy access site. Close to Lanhydrock national trust house and their mountain bike cycle trails. Also Cardingham woods bike trails close. 5 mins to an Asda. Levelling blocks required, we were fine with the standard blocks. Electric hookup available. We have stayed a few times with our children.

Only if you must

It is located in the countryside close to Bodmin moor but but after that ... little to recommend it. Your pitch will be on a very narrow strip of sloping grassy ground close alongside a dusty track leading almost immediately into a working farm. As a previous reviewer has already said .. Surprised that site has CL status in club records

Equally disappointed.

Mentioned when booking it was just me and the dog in small campervan. Site definitely not level even for me. Could not get electricity to work - phoned contact number and was told 'he wouldn't be back for a while'. I was due to visit relatives nearby. Returned after dark expecting to be able to plug in. Lead hadn't been touched. Saw man next morning " Everything alright?". No! Apparently it was my fault that I hadn't pushed it in far enough. (Difficult through the nettles and cobwebbed dead insects). Still wanted full price and I left site. .

Disappointed

I was rather amazed that this was classed as a CL, being a grass verge beside a dusty track. The electricity tripped 6 times in about 5 minutes necessitating both caravans on site resorting to gas for the fridge. Despite this gross inconvenience no discount was made. Not surprisingly myself and the other van cut short our stay and will not be repeating the experience.

Strangely Nice

We arrived from the A30 eastbound which fortunately made finding the site easy but coming from the westbound A30 could prove slightly interesting (this is not the owners fault but the ongoing roadworks on the A30). I do find it difficult to refer to it as a CL as it is just a section of grass on the left that runs alongside the access road to the farm, there is nothing to section this off from the access road to where you pitch your caravan. Please ensure that you have plenty of levelling blocks as if you are nearer the entrance the ground is somewhat uneven (we had our caravan at the maximum height Millenco aluminium leveller and we still needed to go up another few inches) Overall it is an extremely peaceful site but could do with some changes to make it more welcoming. The access road as previously reported has had work done on it and although not perfectly smooth it is not full of potholes, after all it is an access road to the farm, any caravan or motor home would not have difficulty in towing. The only real negative about this CL is the fact the minimal traffic that does use the access road to the farm could take more care when driving past the caravans as this access road is a dusty track and you are within 10ft and the dust created does not go well when sitting outside eating. Owners were pleasant enough and the CL was kept tidy.

lovely rest

This site gave us just what we needed, a lovely welcome, electric hookup and emptying facilities,  it was quiet, peaceful although only a strip of grass by the farmers lane it was clean, neatly cut and gently sloping if you do not want or need toilet blocks and entertaining but just somewhere to rest and relax between jaunts out its perfect.  we would not hesitate to go there again, and look forward to another ten days next year, our dogs loved it but be aware there are sheep so keep dogs on leads.

Great Stopover

This site is excellent as a safe stopover on the way to our main site in St Agnes. Do not use the email as the nice lady I spoke to informed me that it was not working. On calling I was informed that it would be ok to arrive very late and this suited us as we like to travel overnight. We paid the gentleman at is bungalow in the morning and the children were able to look round the farm. The site is only a few minutes from the main road and it is easy to find. Yes the approach is bumpy but drive slowly and you will be fine. We will be using this site every year as a stopover and would recommend it to all.

Great county walks.

Just had a very pleasant week here after being warmly welcomed by the friendly owners. It has some great country walking directly from the site including a huge wood very near by. There was very little farm traffic during my stay but it is a quiet time so check with the owners before booking or you may end up here during the mucking season! It is a working farm after all. Had no problems with my electric or any other services for that matter. Will definitely be coming again as there's still plenty more to explore.

Cornish Mix

The access to the site is pretty rough, both the approach lane and the farm access. The photo on the site page bears no relation to any part of the site we saw, as we were pitched along side the farm drive with vehicles passing within a few feet of the caravan at regular intervals. There were certainly no trees or attractive bushes anywhere to be seen near the pitches. The overall locality is pleasant countryside but the 'pitches' are simply a grass stretch alongside the drive- I certainly would not use this site if I had small children or dogs. We had to repair the electric box on arrival although the owner did say he was waiting for it to be fixed. Not a site I would return to, although to be fair our 'neighbours' loved it and had been visiting for several years.
