Lovely CL

Lovely quiet picturesque and friendly CL. Short walk to the pub, and plenty of cycling and walking options. We use our van all year round, so appreciated the hard standing pitches. We also applaud the use of electricity meters. We don't use ehu so appreciated not paying for something we don't need! Water and elsan easily accessible. We look forward to returning in the summer.

Wonderful CL

This is a brilliant CL, not only for the site itself but also for the owner - Miranda. She is brilliant, so jolly, helpful and efficient. It’s a good secure site. The horses are delightful. The views are glorious over Cotswolds Hills in one direction, and you have the church behind you. We were a bit apprehensive on arrival as had asked for hardstanding pitch but initially couldn’t see them - there are actually two very well enhanced pitches in the middle of the campsite/field. We would definitely return, and cannot fault. Only feedback would be from a previous review that described cycle into Bourton as ‘easy’. They either have electric cycles or are much fitter. It is very straightforward and direct but very up and down a few challenging inclines but it is only 3 miles mainly along very quiet lane!

Superb CL

When we arrived we found the entrance blocked by a film crew and almost missed it! When we stopped and explained that we needed to be in the farm, they were very understanding and helpful - cleared the barriers and guided us into the farm! Very peaceful and quiet, large well maintained pitches, fantastic views over rolling farmland with horses and sheep. Nicely central to the Cotswolds area. Lovely owner, Miranda - we will definitely be back!

Great site great location

We’ve just had 9 days on this site, plenty of space to set up with great views, there are two clusters of metered power points with three connections on each allowing vans to spread out which is great, the chemical waste is a bit of a trek if you are at the far end of the field but you can take it in the car and plenty of room to park and empty, in our 9 days Miranda cut the grass twice , it is very well maintained, it is also quite a secure site with electric gate and security cameras on the entry to the site.location is good for lots of walks and visiting local villages, nearest is Bourton on the water which is stunning and the fish and chips excellent, we will definitely be returning

Our First Trip

This was our first outing in our motorhome. 16th Feb for three nights. It was fab. A very, very, kind and helpful owner who was very patient with us start ups. Thank you very much. Cycled into Bourton on the Water. Great fish and chips there. So good we went twice. Visited Harkstone brewery - fab. Had fab walks from the farm and had a meal in the Plough Inn. Cold Aston is beautiful. Thank you Miranda. Paul and Jayne

It's oh so quiet. Shh shhh

This is a fabulous cl in the little village of cold Aston. Surrounded by sloping hills with sheep and horses grazing. It's a farm so there are chickens wandering and a cockerel or two but they never woke us. It's so quiet! We were the only ones on site. Access road into the village is a single track with passing places but it's such a quiet village we didn't pass anyone in motorhome or when we were cycling, just avoid school times as it's right next to a delightful primary school. We could hear the children singing when we arrived. Just lovely! Met the owner and as fellow cl owners we had plenty to chat about! Easy cycling into Bourton on the water, Upper & Lower Slaughter and Stow on the Wold one day, and a beautiful country lane cycle to a pub in the village of Guiting on our second day. The cl is basic (no amenities but we don't need them), water is just on the left before you enter the cl field so fill up first if in a Motorhome. There are two temporary hardstandings next to ehu (metered in winter) and the rest is grass. Pub in village opposite cl which we didn't try but will when we return! Online booking system too which we love so you can check availability without bothering the owner. We will most definitely be back.

Lovely relaxing break

Arrived early afternoon on Friday, easy access, then onto the filed to set up. Weather was very wet but that didn’t detract from the beautiful views across the Cotswolds. The local pub does excellent food and drinks, and were very friendly. Site is as described. The pitch fee is at the upper end of the scale for a CL but is, IMO, worth it. Will definitely be back.

Quiet, peaceful & welcoming

Lovely location in a quiet Cotswold village. Peaceful & quiet site, plenty of space to be able to spread out & pitch wherever suits. Received a friendly confirmation reply to our email enquiry and this was followed through during our stay as the owner was friendly & welcoming, despite being busy with the horses, chickens & metal detecorists! Really loved the informal atmosphere of this site as in there no was set arrival/departure times & we had the flexibility to pitch wherever suited. Can highly recommend the walk to the Notgrove Hub for breakfast. A great base for exploring the Cotswolds and will definitely return if we are visiting this area again.
