Tranquility on our doorstep

A short drive from our home in Shropshire and it’s like another world. The pitches are really big and each pitch is almost self contained with high dividing hedges. The hedges give shelter and become sun traps, but there is a small grass area in shade at end of each pitch. Traffic can be heard on the nearby A519 but it is quiet in the evening. The noise is not intrusive and the birds can still be heard as you relax by the van. Each pitch has an uninterrupted view of the fishing lakes. If a rest from cooking is needed, the Tickled Trout cafe, on site, is to be recommended. All the food is cooked to order… and is both delicious and plentiful. Facilities are spotless. In all, a gem of a site. We will be back.

Beautiful view

Lovely private pitches with a beautiful view of the lakes. Arrival was easy and welcoming. Yes, there's traffic noise but I'm very sensitive to these things and it didn't bother us too much. We were on pitch 2 so some distance away. We're marking it down purely because we only stay on adult only sites, we like peace and quiet. Sadly our neighbours had 2-3 children in the caravan which rather spoilt the peace of our Sunday morning!

The views make it!

The hedges between the individual pitches on this site give privacy but there is ample space. The views across the fishing lakes are lovely and although there is a road not too far away, it didn't disturb us at-all. The facilities are fine and not too far from the pitches and if you don't want to be 'self-contained' there is a shower room. Also a café. All in all, a very good C/L with easy access to all sorts of places of interest.

Great site

We stayed here for three nights over a weekend and found it very peaceful. Welcomed by Pete who explained where everything was. Toilet and shower room very clean, lots of hand sanitiser etc for everyone to us. Good pitches which are divided by hedging giving privacy. Wonderful views over the countryside and the fishing pool. Café on site was very good, friendly staff who made us feel welcome. Another road has been added away from the pitches for others to use.We will definitely return.

Nice but a tad noisy

Visually this is a stunning CL with views over the trout lakes and forest. The pitches are large and private although levelling blocks are required. The owners were friendly and helpful plus there is a nice cafe on site. There are however a couple of points to consider before choosing this site, the road that makes arrival very easy unfortunately makes it quite noisy especially early on a weekday morning, it was not quite as bad at the weekend. Plus the facilities are quite a way from the pitches which could be a problem for some. Ultimately though the wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would use again.

Not so quiet

The pitches are private from the other pitches and a good size. There is only one tap which is quiet away from the site, if you are on pitch 5 and 6 you have a long up hill walk to get to all the facilities. The shower room is large and free. There is a nice coffee shop on site which has a lovely outside seating area which means cars are continually driving past the pitches.. The road which leads onto the site is very busy which in some cases very noisy.

Lovely CL

Spent a week here last month this was our first visit but doubt it will be our last. Lovely separated hard standing pitches. There are great views over the fishing lakes and surrounding country side. We had a lovely walk from the site to and along the canal via country roads. This is accessed after a few yards walking at side of main road.

Lovely

Very easy access from the A41. Leveling blocks needed but nice and private pitches on gravel hard standing. Some way to water and cc emptying point but the views from the pitch are worth this inconvenience. Some traffic noise from road but didn't spoil our sitting out. Cafe on site which is well worth visiting. Lots of places to visit and convenient for supplies. Nearest franchised caravan dealer is Spinney at Newcastle under Lyme.

Lovely Find

What a lovely CL. Tiered hardstanding with a hedge in between to give a bit of privacy. May need levelling blocks. You overlook the fishing lakes which even on the damp weekend we went, was still a lovely view and would be fantastic if the sun had been shining! Good facilities, exclusive use of toilet and shower for CL users and although we didn't eat in the restaurant, the food looked delicious and was very reasonably priced. Approach is easy to see and drive in. There are some lovely lanes to walk the dog, although you need to walk 100 yards or so on the busy main road first although a lot quieter at weekends. The canal isn't far away which also is great to take the dog too. The site is a short drive away to visit some lovely towns. Will definitely go back soon and we would definitely recommend a visit.

Lucky find.

We were looking for a site near Telford and booked this very nice site. The views across the ponds to the countryside beyond were lovely. The shower/toilet room was clean and tidy and there was a separate toilet for the general public. The farm shop provided local sourced food and the cafe was open during the day. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Certainly will plan a return visit.
