Very nice CL

You couldn't ask for a better location central to major shopping complex within 5 min drive. Very welcoming site owners. Site is slight sloping but easy to hook up. Had many nice visits here and would definately return in the future.

How they should be

Stayed here in June, only just got around to doing the review. This is how CL's should be. Excellent value for money, well kept, close to local pubs, restaurants & shopping centre. Don't forget to visit the Spitfire Museum, very informative. Enjoyed it so much, was able to book an extra couple of days.

Good value....in ideal location

At only £9 pounds per night this site can only be described as excellent value for money. The CL is ideally situated just 10 mins drive from Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs, with Dover only 20 miles away and well worth a visit. The Viking trail is ideal for cyclist’s,and pubs , restaurants and supermarkets are all local. The owners are pleasant and stick to the 5 van rule which is becoming all to rare nowadays. The only disappointment for me was Margate which looks scruffy and in urgent need of redevelopment…..well recommended.

Perfect quiet location to access the sights of Thanet

We took a short break for Easter to walk round the Thanet coastline, and picked this CL for its location. Very central for all the local towns and sights, easy cycle/ reasonable walk to massive out-of-town shopping centre, with mega sized M&S, Sainsburys, Tesco etc. But for us the attraction was the really quiet location at the end of a dead end, beyond which there was great dog walking - so straight from the site. Very quiet - just the sound of sky larks. Walking round Botany Bay at low tide under a chalk arch and round a chalk stack is a memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Heavenly - better than much the south west can offer. Site was level enough for us with our inflatable leveller for our large twin axle, electricity reliable, and sanitation very accessible. Bit of a wiggle into the site - but once we had the hang of the angle, leaving was no problem. Recommended.

Peace and quiet

We have just stayed for seven nights and found it to be a really peaceful site with room to relax without any hassle, you are very close to all the amenities and within walking distance of Margate should you want to we took our car and it's so easy to reach the local seaside towns within 20-30 minutes, including Sandwich,Broadstairs,Ramsgate and Birchington and not a lot longer to Herne Bay.Entrance lane is a little narrow but we got down with Hymer Exsis and car trailer no problem. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great place to stay!

I love this CL. Really peaceful (apart from the noisy Parakeets that are in abundance). 2 water taps and well spread out EHU points. If you like shopping? Then the huge Westwood Cross complex is a couple of mins by car or 10 minute walk. There is lots of places to visit nearby..Ramsgate/Margate/Broadstairs really close...not too far Faversham, Whitstable, Canterbury, Dover. Only downside is...roads around Westwood Cross have been altered so care needed with SatNav. Narrow access lane with hedges that need trimming..care needed entering site through gates...you will need to level. But I highly recommend.

Nice little site, shame about the area

This is a fairly small, slightly slopey, grassy CL. The site itself is lovely, and the immediate surroundings are nice and quiet. We thought it looked a bit squashed with 5 units on compared with other CLs. There are 2 water points, plenty of hookups, and recycling bins. There is also a small WC shared with the pet rescue centre next door. As other reviewers have said there is a massive shopping centre up the road as well as a new housing development. It takes about 90 mins to walk into Margate across footpaths, roads and housing estates. Not a pleasant walk. We found we had to use the car to get anywhere nice to walk. I'm afraid this area of Kent didn't appeal to us; too much traffic, litter and building.

Road Layout changed

A lovely peaceful site situated at the end of a narrow lane.  Unusually I found the use of a Sat Nav almost essential as the road layout has changed due to a new housing development being built across one of the approach roads meaning my Sat Nav seemed to take me across a field before finding original diverted road the other side of the new houses - the directions in the site guide require updating.  Once we found the site and set up (levelling ramps required) we found the location ideal for exploring the surrounding coastal towns.  Will definitely visit again.

Great location

Just returned from site. Had a lovely stay. Walked to Toby Carvery easily (about 10 minutes mainly on path). Great dog walk. The only issue was the one toilet that appears to be shared with the animal sanctuary users next door. It was dirty and I had to spend time cleaning it before I was willing to use it. Also left toilet roll in there and this was gone the next morning. Would love to visit again but on an assurance that this matter had been dealt with.

Just our type of site

Although listed under Margate, the site is actually nearer to Broadstairs. We arrived over a Bank Holiday weekend after experiencing an awful journey, but once on site and water + electric hooked up, peace and tranquility took over. We particularly liked watching the bird life including parakeets which seem to find this area to their liking! Some care is required if towing a long unit, as access is along a narrow lane. Do follow the instructions printed in the members handbook as difficulties could arise if you don't. Only down side was getting into the flow of traffic by the M&S roundabout which was reduced to a crawl each day we were there but then, it was a Bank Holiday when the world and his wife was about so heavy traffic must be expected. We will come back if in the area.
