Lyminster Nursery disappointing

Hi thanks for the exceptance, first time in 7yrs I am having to moan, hope this is is exceptable. If not please direct me to the right area. Good afternoon, not long back from 3nights at Lyminster Nursery CL nr Littlehamton, very disappointed neve once did the owner come out to greet us in and let us know anything, very unkept site and surrounding land Dog mess along the perimeter of the small but adequate size field, an open toilet pan to empty grey and black waste, no flush but a tap with a short length of hose attacked to a tap opposite but did not reach the pan to rinse.£18 a night real value £10-12 would almost be to much, I don't think this site has been inspected for a fews. Years. Certainly not what I would normally expect from Caravan & Motorhome club site. I would strongle recommend you not to use it.

Not quite as we expected....

On Arrival, I called Peter and he came out to show us where to pitch up.... fabulous - very welcoming etc.... The site is on a main road in and out of Littlehampton so some road noise during the night but not a problem - you can't have it all... Next day we went out in the morning in the van and returned to same pitch etc all fine.... We were going out on the Saturday afternoon on foot to meet family close by (fab location to visit The Brewhouse) and as we were leaving a caravan was parking up - fine - enouogh room inbetween us and the next van.... that made it 6 units on site, I thought maybe someone was a late checkout... well when we returned after dinner and drinks - the caravan had pitched up sideways rather than length ways and another van had joined the site - totalling 7 units... the gap between our door and their caravan/awning was just 3m. This really did spoil our last evening as we had planned to sit out for a while... anyway moving on, we simply got up and left... I did contact the owner who was apologetic and advised an error in overbooking! he did offer a free night/nights refund which was very kind of him. I understand we all have different expectations but do feel this was quite disappointing but whats good for one may not be good for all etc...

site not as we expected

stayed on this site recently. Thought it a bit rough round the edges, not looked after. Easy to find and park your self. Entrance ok. Whilst we were there there were 3 workmans caravans on site 2 old rough ones the other was a 5 wheeler. Was a bit dubious about leaving the van unattended during the day. The occupants looked a bit rough. An ideal site for the location but we wouldnt use it again. There was another van on the site same as us and they spoke ecactly the same as us and would not go again.

Not What We Expected

When we arrived we were unsure which pitch to go onto as the caravans were too close to each other. It was apparent that there were commercial vehicles with caravans also on this site. With 7 vans in total during our stay (for pretty much the whole week), this is certainly not what we normally expect on a CL site. The grass was long and uncut and pretty much remained so over our seven day visit. The owner was welcoming and the other visitors were also welcoming, we just did not want to be on a site with work vans. If you wanted to spend the day on the site then it was too crowded. I concur with a previous review a very basic site.

Lovely site with views across a wildflower meadow

As stated in the previous review this is an easy site to find, well sign-posted. Level, well-maintained lawn not covered in grass-cuttings. Close to all tourist spots in the locale, with reasonable road connections...Oh the joy of the A27!! Facilities on the site are basic with EHU. Water pressure can be low when the Nursery water tanks are being filled. If this is an issue then please let the owner know & he will switch off while you fill your container. But what's the rush? Admire the beautiful flowers all around ! A really friendly owner who was a little disappointed about the water comments . He is very approachable!

Basic site

Easy to find site (in daylight), as it is just off the main road with a very visible sign. More of a challenge in the dark as the exit is less than obvious and no immediate lighting. This is a basic field, with electricity and overlooking some rough fields, nursery plots and large empty greenhouses. As this was October, it could possibly look different in Summer, if the nursery has flowers. See comments below, which we didn't see. Note that we had not problems with water pressure as stated by other visitors. We all book places because they are handy for where we want to visit, we walked the prom in town most evenings and the downs most days which are very pleasant. There are plenty of supermarkets close (so don't overload the van - Morrisons is a mile down the road), but the site still feels out of town, but close enough to get to the seafront with relatively little effort. As it was dark early for most of our visit and we spend time away from the caravan the site was not a problem for us. The one black mark is the state of the toilet emptying facilities which make a less than pleasant job, pretty awful. A little effort could improve this site, as it is in the bottom 5 (out of over 60) CL's we have visited.

Nice site

Good site with good access to Littlehampton, we walked that. Then bussed into Arundel. All grass site and got stuck twice, but staff were great and helped tow us out. Nice walk to Arundel via church, when dry.
