Does what it says on the tin.

Don't expect all the bells and whistles, if you want those pay £40 a night on a site !!!! What you get is a warm Yorkshire welcome, good access to the Yorkshire coast and North York Moors. The site is basic and all the better for it, well looked after, with good water and waste facilities and friendly, helpful owners. This is our idea of a good break and we will definitely be using it again.

Great location for both Filey and Scarborough

The turn into the site is easy to miss. After leaving the A165 and just along the B1261, it is the first drive past the road into the village of Lebberston. You will see a sign for the next-door property Sycamore House before you see the Club sign. You turn in, and then sharp left into the grass field. We pitched at the rear of the site, at right-angles to the hedge, but had to use a lot of levelling blocks under the jockey wheel. Then we noticed that the other caravans had parked long-side on by the hedge - there is plenty of room to do this. Warm welcome from friendly owner. A short stroll by a footpath next to the road to the excellent circus on its summer season. 10 minutes by bus to Filey and 20 minutes to Scarborough, on an hourly service. We went through the gate at the back of the caravan field to the village road, then turned right and it is a few minutes' walk to the bus shelter on the right for the bus to Scarborough, and opposite (but with no bus stop), for the bus to Filey. Being smaller, Filey is easier to get about than Scarborough. We had a great walk to the end of Filey Brigg at low tide - rocky in places so not suitable for people with limited mobility. Lots of lovely attractions for families along the front and at the south end by walking up Martins Ravine and into Glen Gardens. For Scarborough South Bay you can get off the bus before Valley Bridge and walk down to the front. For North Bay it means getting off the bus at the terminus at the railway station. Then it is a good 30 minutes walk to the North Bay and attractive Peasholm Park with its Japanese gardens. Excellent replica ships naval battle (admission charge) in the park on certain afternoons in the summer season, with plenty of seating. The park and café are closed from about 1.00pm to 2.00pm while this entertainment is organised. After the naval battle you cannot go on the pedalos on the lake until the lake is cleared, which takes quite a while. There are many enjoyable morning and evening orchestral concerts in the Scarborough Spa. The morning ones will be outdoors if the weather is fine. We went to an 11am morning one for £8 each, then had a lovely reasonably-priced lunch in the Spa restaurant, with a view of the sea. There is a charge to look round Scarborough Castle on the headland between the North and South Bays. Nearby is St Mary's Church for the grave of Anne Brontë. Lovely long sandy beaches at both Filey and Scarborough.

My Review

A very warm welcome and very well kept site. Good for all local facilities, good pub within easy walking distance. Excellent public transport to Filey and Scarborough within 50mtrs. We come back again and again.
