Tranquility

Warmly welcomed by the owner, we chose a level pitch and enjoyed two days in a lovely, quiet, well maintained site. Although there was heavy rain, the ground remained firm. Please be aware that if you decide to take the bus to Lincoln, the bus stop is at the telephone box opposite the church. Highly recommend this site

Perfect

Have just spent a lovely weekend at this site. Peaceful setting, very welcoming and friendly hosts Terry and Ann. We just enjoyed relaxing and watching the world go by but for those more adventurous it is a great area for walks with easy access to river and relatively close to Gainsborough and Lincoln (showground not far). Marton is a quaint village with church and highly rated local hostelry. Plenty of birds and wildlife and Tom the horse and the three sheep. Thank you Terry and Ann for your hospitality, look forward to seeing you again soon.

A quiet and peaceful site

Just stayed here for three nights. Owners very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Grass is mown and field is pretty flat. We didnt need levelling ramps. It is well drained. We had heavy rain the night before we left, but but no problems. Very quiet and peaceful. A couple of walks from the site and the interpretation board by the church outlines a couple of circular walks taking in aspects of the village. Pitches are spread around the field with plenty of room between them. If you want to go out and about there are places to go, but if you just want to stay and chill the site is equally good. Off grid and £8 a night - fantastic value for a well cared for site. Site easy to find, and easy access as the road is a no through road, so little traffic.

Tranquility and a perfect spot to chill.

This is the perfect CL if you’d like to chill. We loved that it is a back to basics camping experience but with such a well cared for site and welcoming owners. These types of sites are just what we seek.

Benchmark CL.

This is one of our favourite sites, very clean and tidy, lovely owners, good pub within 100 yds. Quite, peaceful, all you could wish for in a CL.

We got a lovely welcome when we arrived, that always means so much. This is a small CL site, just the basics, but for us everything needed. Ideal for The Lincoln Showground. Only spent the evenings here, but it was very tranquil with lovely scenery, Shire horse and sheep.....lovely.

A perfect little get away

This CL is well worth a visit,it is easy to access, and you will always receive a warm welcome. As motor home owners Terry and Ann know what is required at a site, and they make sure everybody has a relaxing stay. There is a choice of walks from the gate, and Terry will always advise about others, particularly around Torksey Lock area We have visited Lincoln-park & ride, just a few mile away-very easy way to get into the City centre this way Gainsborough is worth a look,Marshalls Yard is fascinating-just go into the shops to gaze around at the industrial buildings being put to a good use,and all grocery shopping tastes catered for in the town An 'off-grid' CL like this is our perfect get away,Manor House is highly recommended !! Thank you Terry & Ann, keep up the excellent work

Classic CL

We used this as an overnight stop prior to having our motorhome serviced at Brownhills in Newark. This site is a gem, lovely walks by the Trent, close to the village and totally peaceful. The site is all grass and it was a dry spell when we were there so no problems. It is an enclosed paddock beyond the Manor House garden with water and CDP and open countryside around it. It is a site we expect to use again.

Very nice site

Terry and Ann run this lovely, quiet site, they offer a warm welcome and friendly chat. The site has views over open countryside with the "pet" sheep in the adjoining field and Thomas the horse in the other. We have stayed at this site quite a few times and always had a great time.

Our Home from Home!!

This lovely site is our home from home as it only a stones throw away from where we live! To come and stay at this site is truly a little bit of (local) heaven for us. Access to the site can be a little tight if you don't take a wide swing in, so just be aware of this. The owners, Terry and Ann, are welcoming, chatty and very approachable. Their dog, Tina, is also a regular out and about with them but she is well controlled and never left to roam on the site and therefore doesn't bother our dogs which are tethered and never off-lead on the site. There are half a dozen chickens that roam freely throughout the site and they love to meet and greet at the gate :-) If they're laying, eggs can be available to buy too. We stay here regularly as just ourselves, but sometimes as 2 or 3 vans with our friends and family.  The site overlooks fields and even the power station in the distance is not offensive to the eye! (Or is that just me?) It also backs on to the village playing field which on occasion does host Rallies but this doesn't, in our experience, tend to impact too much on the CL. For those coming from further afield, this is a well located site for those who want to explore and visit some of the local area. Gainsborough, Lincoln, Scunthorpe, Retford, Bawtry and Doncaster are all within easy travelling with a bus running straight through the village to Lincoln and Gainsborough. The other destinations mentioned can all be reached by buses from Gainsborough if you don't want to drive. Nearest supermarkets are in Gainsborough (3-4 miles).  This is a lovely non-EHU, no frills, pretty and relaxing gem of a site. We LOVE it!!
