Shame it is so noisy

Welcome ok, levelish pitches, odd set up with the CL sat between two areas of seasonal pitches. We parked up by the hook up point set up, only then to have to put up with a seasonal pitch van playing their music at festival levels. Plus the cl pitches are right by individual gates into the seasonal pitches which is strange. It could be so nice but the noise level was just not relaxing, I don’t mind a bit of music but not so I can’t even hear my own.

Not dog friendly at all.....

Just returned from a 7 night stay on this site. When we got there we were told by the site manager, Jacqui Hodgson where everything was, including where the dog poo bin was. 2 days in, I was walking my small dog on a lead on the grass on site and Jacqui told me that I couldn't walk the dog on site and would have to go out of the gate to find somewhere else to walk. I found this very odd as was told on arrival where the poo bin was and there were other people, including residents walking their dogs. This was quite upsetting as I am a very responsible dog owner. The site appeared to have a lot of cars and people coming and going. Would not use this site again, which is a shame as the area of Wallingford is very nice.

Unfriendly Manager

Despite a tranquil site and friendly residents, the welcome myself and my wife received from the manager Jackie was surprisingly hostile - suspicious and rude. We were questioned as to our intentions, aggressively told to re-park less than metre to the right of where we were and made to prove who was in the camper (it was our children). At no point were we told where any facilities were or any other information and we’re constantly reminded that noise after 10 would not be tolerated. It made us feel very awkward and unwelcome. The youngest of our 2 children was scared to leave the campervan for a good while and would not go far for fear of seeing her We also made a joint booking with our family member and despite a space next to us, my Sister In Law and her partner were allocated a space for their T4 in a nearby overflow site and was told it was for fire safety. After complaining they were eventually housed on the site but squeezed between 2 caravans (a fire risk in itself!?). Not sure what we did to receive such a reception as I noticed Mrs Hodgson smiling and joking with another guest. Bemused and disappointed

Enjoyed a short stay and will return for longer

Agree with most of the other reviews. The CL is spacious, quiet and well maintained - mown grass and high hedges. Hook-up included in price. Yes there are other (completely separate) seasonal pitches (and flats) on the (large) Newnham Manor site with no issues at all to the CL. Mrs Betts was very welcoming and helpful, and clearly takes pride in her CL. As well as the easy access to Wallingford itself, there are regular bus services to Henley; Oxford and Reading (and Wallingford) right outside the gate. Very easy access for Motorhomes/caravans from M40 etc.

Not of usual standard

As a tenter, I was shown to the CL area. This small CL area was surrounded by seasonal pitches as well as permanent pitches, and was also used for parking by the other caravaners. There was lots of trade vans parking in the nearby driveway. The toilets and shower areas were not clean, toilet paper ran out; and no evidence of cleaning was seen, apart from one sign. The grass was nicely mown, and we had lots of space. We only stayed for one night so perhaps our perspective is limited. As a caravanner (usually) this CL site was not of the usual standard.

Enjoyable first visit

We stayed on this cl for the first time in July 21. It is extremely well-kept and clean with lawned grass and high, thick hedges. The is easy from the main road and there is plenty of space to pitch your van. It is easy walking distance into the pretty town of Wallingford situated on a picturesque stretch of the Thames. There are very good public transport links with buses going to Oxford and to Henley-on-Thames as well as other destinations. We also picked up at Didcot Parkway railway station which is within easy reach by car. It is very reasonably priced compared with other sites in the area. There is a seasonal caravan site adjacent but it is competely separate from the cl.

Warm Welcome

Well situated, very clean and Jackie the site manager could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The CL area for members is very well maintained and pitches are generous. The site is in between two commercial residential areas but the people - mainly tradesmen were polite well mannered and courteous. Noise was minimal to non-existent during the night hours during our stay. We were pleased and had an enjoyable stay. Jackie works incredibly hard to make everyone welcome and happy. We shall return again and would recommend to others.

Quiet and clean - great for access to Wallingford

Stayed 3 nights with the children. It's clean and quiet, with well maintained pitches and easy access from the main road. The site is perfectly situated for Wallingford (10 min. walk into town), and trips alongside the Thames. I warmly recommend it. It is located next to a static caravan park (the boundary between the two is a high thick hedge) which is a little unusual but didn't cause any problems or noise at all.

Our first visit to a CL - Excelled our expectations.

Booked our first visit to a Certified Location - The site is within easy reach of x2 pubs (3-mins walk) and River Thames & Wallingford Town Centre (10-mins walk). Jackie who manages the site is very pleasant and welcoming. Called ahead, so that the height restricted barrier can be lifted and we were given free range to select our pitch on a nicely maintained lawn paddock with central concrete driveway. We arrived expecting the facilities to be basic, given it was only £15 per night. Drinking water tap & waste disposal areas Incl. toilet emptying & dustbins were all in good order and Jackie was monitoring these facilities throughout our stay. We were offered the use of the on-site toilet block, but we didn't need it - preferring to use our on-board facilities for a full CL experience! Late departure wasn't an issue so we extended our stay into the late afternoon. We have really enjoyed our stay & already rebooked for the coming weeks. Good value for money and everything you require. This site exceeded our expectations of a CL and we would highly recommend. Many thanks Andrew.
