18 - 21 Feb18 Long Weekend

3 night / 4 day stay. Staff friendly on arrival and directed to the pitch. Large pitch, part hard standing with picnic bench, own water tap and waste emptying site. Slight adjustments for leveling. Currently only 2 pitch available as in the process of upgrading / building 2 more. Seemed to have pitches previously but holiday pods x 4 now occupy the old ones. Need to reverse (blind side) to get onto pitch and slightly up hill when doing, but wasn't a problem. Gun club start early on weekends but not really heard from caravan pitches.New 9 hole golf course being built, should be fine once bedded in during the summer. Plenty nearby walks and 2 x 18 hole golf courses nearby. 3 mile walk through woods to get to local village, plenty shops and pubs serving meals. Did have to complain to owner on leaving as caravan adjacent (seemed to be there for the duration), allowed dog to roam around during hours of darkness and fouled around the pitches. Definitely return in a few months once upgrade is completed.

a little gem

We stayed here for a few days in October Very safe and secure site. Made use of the firing range which was great fun. Site has hard standing with loads of space for car and awning. There are some Pods and a little upgrading going off which was a tiny bit noisy but nothing too bad. There is a Lake and nice views. Staff are extremely good. Great for local access. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you

Away with the family

On arrival we were warmly greeted by Carl and Linda. Carl took us to our pitch, which had stoned area to park our 4x4 and stoned tracks for the caravan, these were surrounded by grass. The pitches are very flat so minor adjustments were made to level out caravan. The site is located near A614, so travelling to Nottingham or Sherwood Forest and the surrounding areas isn't arduous at all. An important point to note is there's no road noise either. Our visit was for a Clay Target shooting, so we expected some noise, but with the pitch being over a small decline, and bunded meant it wasn't too noisy during the day. The site has a little fishing lake which is 75 yards from the pitches. Just behind this is a very mature woodland which is managed by the forestry commission. It's has many trails for both walkers and cyclists I believe. For provisions there is a Tescos which is about 6 miles away at Blidworth, and for those who would rather not cook every night these a number of takeaways also. This is a new CL and one we'll stay at again.

Will definitely stay again!

We were met by Carl to ensure we knew where everything was, and directed to a level hard-standing (1 degree out but let's not be too picky). Every pitch had it's own power hook up supply, water supply, and own elson point. Our visit was for the Clay Target shooting, so expected some noise, but with the pitch being over a small incline, even that wasn't too noisy during the day. Within a hundred yards, past the fishing lake, you can enter the woods if walking is your thing. We ventured there and found loads of trails and footpaths heading in all directions. Being close to the A614, access was easy, but there was no road noise, making this a very relaxing weekend. This is a new CL and one we'll stay at again.
