Staying at Oxclose!

This site was still suitable for use despite all the poor weather we have all been experiencing! Well drained, good hedge to protect from the wind, and lovely spacious pitches. Grass well maintained and cut frequently. Good information sent prior to arrival and we had a peaceful relaxing week. Clean facilities area for bins etc and a useful information shed.Handy bus service and lovely village easily accessible by foot, and boasts a pub, Chinese and village store! We will re visit for certain and hope for a sunshine stay next time!. Thank you Paul for letting us stay.

Superb little CL Site and close to the lovely village of Huby

We have stayed here 3 times and will definately be going back as we love it loads, such a beautiful site and Huby is a 10 minute walk away which has a very dog friendly pub, a Cantonese pub , a chippy, local shop, what more could you want for a relaxing break. There is a bus stop on the lane into Huby which will take you into York centre and this runs every half hour so. Paul the site owner is just brilliant, all site owners should be like him and he does a fantastic job. The site has chemical waste and recycling, grey waste disposal, wifi and electric hook up, all that you need, just a perfect site. WE WILL BE BACK

Fab Stay

This was our first stay at Oxclose having looked for a site near Easingwold last week. Could not have been a nicer experience, so peaceful, beautiful views, lovely clean site & good facilities. Met the owner Paul who came down to see us, lovely local man who made us feel we had known him from years. Can't wait to return to Pauls site in our beloved North Yorkshire. Lovely 2nd visit to Oxclose Farm CL

This was our 2nd visit to Oxclose & won't be our last. The site is a 20 min walk from Huby village where there is a fish & chip shop, Cantonese & pub. The site itself is flat & has a info shed containing lots of leaflets & free range eggs to buy. It has lovely views over fields & we enjoyed watching the sheep in the sunshine. We got the bus to York which was £4 return per adult. Stand outside the front of the site & flag the number 40 bus & it also drops you off outside. Paul the owner, texts you the WiFi & gate code before you visit & everything is so easy. For a peaceful location, near a village with amenities & easy access to York, you will not go far wrong.

Top site

What a fantastic cl, very large pitches well spread out and great facilities .Peaceful and tranquil and only 6 miles to York with the bus stopping outside the gate for you. Some lovely walks straight from site so if you have a dog a added bonus. Paul is a great host and nothing is to much trouble for him and his great knowledge of the area he is willing to share, A ten minute walk into the village is a brilliant Cantonese one of the best we have had.

Great CL site

This is a great CL site if you like peace and quiet. Good size pitches and great water and sluice facilities. Great information shed and secure locked gate Paul the owner very approachable and happy to update you on facilities and surrounding area. The bus will stop at the gate if you put your hand out. £6.50 to York return. We will be returning in the near future

Brilliant CL

New to us CL, always a bit apprehensive going somewhere new, but and this is a big BUT no worries, it's a great site open views and amenities, large pitches clean area for waste and info shed with fresh newly laid eggs £1 half doz. This site is firmly on our favourites list to revisit. In the village the New Inn pub/Chinese restaurant/takeaway is very good, also the little shop which stocks most things to tide you over, however, the Fish and chip shop which apparently is raved about? is a letdown, here is a copy a review I've left on Facebook & Google about it Review of Chip shop Strange system of serving, you wait in a queue to order which is written in an exercise book you then stand outside until you can remember who was the person in front of you, thankfully it wasn't raining. So I ordered and stood behind a lady who was the last in line, I asked how long she had been waiting. 45. mins she replied, I waited a further 30 min and the 12 people in front of me had still not been served, so I left and went across the road to an excellent Chinese takeaway and had a swift half whilst I waited 10mins for my order. So if you have a lifetime to squander please order fish and chips however if you need to get on with your life go for the Chinese

Lovely peaceful and relaxing CL

Booked in for a weekend stay, was our first stay on this site and first stay on a CL. Was a little worried about staying somewhere without amenities but staying here has actually changed my whole perception to CL sites. Lovely information hut and waste disposal and fresh water taps. We have booked again and hopefully return more in the future. Paul the owner very friendly and accommodating. 100% recommend.

Lovely CL site

Just stayed for one night. Paul couldn't be more helpful, booking was very easy and visited us on site to make sure everything was fine and to pass on some helpful information. Very clean and tidy and even an information shack onsite with all local information on places to visit etc. Also good bus links to York and other local villages. We will have no hesitation in returning.
