Although i had been told that the very large hike in price was not only electric but grass cutting etc, the state of the grass was less than good . patches of grass were cut fairly short but the grass outside our van was short on the left side long ie. 12 inches on the right. we received an email with details for the site just two days before arrival. The map to place the site was barely legible and details about the farm were not very good. If I had had these details before actually booking I would not have done so.
As the title says, we are new members to the C&MC and this was our first stopover at any of its locations.
Great hosts who providing very detailed instructions to find the location and where to go when on the complex.
The camping field is flat with lovely views over open fields and the horse paddocks.
We were the only members there for our single overnight stop so had the choice of plots.
I notice someone had mentioned the caravan storage facility, this was well away from the camping field and could barely be seen through the tree line.
We would definitely visit again.
Peaceful, flat, quiet site with beautiful views all round and easy access. The icing on the cake was an e-mail from the owner two days before we left home containing full details of the site and information about local amenities. Also included was detailed information covering the last 200 yards as you approached the site so there was no chance of missing the site entrance. Watching the horses grazing peacefully in the fields was a joy. Easy walking via footpaths to the local pub, transport museum and local amenities.
Easy enough to find site although sat nav sent us down short cut from A146 which was a bit narrow should have stayed on till roundabout, Easy access to site on good roadway, nice flat site clean and tidy, good dog walking footpaths from site, working farm and stables all in all hassle free stay .
Arrived at cl, third stop on our tour around the south/east coast, no one bothered us, no rules and regulations. Everything was clean and tidy and as expected. There are stables across the other side and horses in the adjacent fields which we loved. Laid back, chilled out, we enjoyed the local area and at the end, tracked down the owners daughter to pay. Complete relaxation.
This is a lovely peaceful site with great views across the fields - the horses were beautiful and very quiet. Our children wanted to go the East Anglia Transport Museum to the Trolleybus Weekend so we booked this site because it is just down the lane from the museum. We were not sure which house to knock at but picked one and booked in with the Owner's son who was very pleasant. He also informed us that we could use the public footpath around the edge of the fields and it would lead right alongside the Museum's newly acquired land and the end of their Tram track in the woods, to the road the Museum is on. Perfect!
A really great night's stay and we will return any time that we are attending the Museum.
