First visit

Had two nights at the Red House. Nice quiet site next to the marina . Lovely walks around the area . If you do stay make sure you have a long hosepipe for the water. Would definitely stay again if in that part of the country .

Delightful position

A small CL in a field behind the owners’ property with lovely views across the river to a working windmill. There are nice walks along the river and quiet lanes for cycling to explore the villages around the Broads. The pub opposite does very good food. The down side is no hard standings and the filed can get boggy when wet but the owners will pull you off with their tractor. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Gem of a site

Booked before Boris released us from lockdown expecting a sudden rush of bookings! Great location next to river Thurne. Good walks from site. Little shop and pub in village. Small field, friendly, informative owner. Could do with a bit of tic around the place but generally pleasing. Will be happy to recommend and will return.

Beautiful setting

The site is quite small but well maintained with basic facilities, for the overnight rate it is very good value. The selling point is definitely the position, adjacent to the river at Thurne and the views of windmills and boats. There are good walks direct from the site, easy access to seats to watch boats, including Norfolk wherries, go by and good access to the rest of the broads and tourist spots. We did not find noise intrusive although overnight moorings for the boats are adjacent they did not impinge on the site for us. Pub and shop selling basics close by so no complaints.

Nice little site

Nice site with pleasant views. Limited space so more ideal for motorhomers and caravans who don't use awnings. Nice walks along river but shame that some dog owners leave dog mess everywhere. Quiet site until about 7am when people start walking their dogs on path next to site. Woken up every morning by dogs barking. One nice touch is owners of site gave you info leaflets on arrival.

Nice Little Site

Stayed at Red House for a week August 2017, nice quiet site, friendly and helpful owners, good location right by the river, easy access except for narrow approach road for the last couple of miles but very light traffic so not a problem. Site is very tidy and level, small shop just along the road selling basic supplies, plenty of bigger shops within ten/twenty minutes drive, pub two minute walk, can't comment on the pub because we didn't use it.

Classic CL

A lovely tranquil spot by the River Thurne. Friendly owner, great views of two windmills and a succession of boats sailing the Thurne. Little shop and now re-opened pub nearby. This was our first non-boat visit to the Broads (which caused some navigational issues as we only knew the routes between places by river!). A good base for either walking or car touring, we walked along the Thurne into Potter H for lunch then returned across the fields, pleasant expedition. We also visited the three unconnected broads, Rollsby, Filby and Ormesby, really beautiful places totally missed by boats cruising the Broads.

Perfect 10 days

Really nice little site, friendly & approachable owners. Ideal for exploring north broads. Great views west for sunsets. Pub & shop within 200 metres & house selling fresh eggs, toms, cucumbers & pickled eggs a further 100 metres.  Would recommend & use again.

Fabulous CL

We have just returned from a stay at this CL. The owners are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The site is situated right at the waterside, and near to a lovely pub which serves great food. There is a small shop close by sells ice creams, newspapers, milk etc. It is a quiet site in a most picturesque setting. Unfortunately, we needed to cut short our stay, but will definitely be back next year to finish off our sight seeing of the area. Thank you for a lovely stay.
