what a location

stayed 09/10/21 access to the cl a little sketchy for underlug tanks few dips in the road but do not let this put you off you wont be disappointed when you get to the CL. met by jill at reception and check in could not be easier you get a welcome pack that has all the information you need the grounds are really well kept and so are the facility's also the pitches we stayed on the grass ones we immaculate felt a bit naughty driving over the such well kept grass. lovely circular walk by the Ouse id say 3mile ish will definitely be returning next summer so we can have a dip in the free heated pool cant rate this spot highly enough 10/10 for us.

Keep smiling

autumnal caravaning

Just spent 6 nights on this delightful site. It was very wet and soggy but a choice of 2 hard standing pitches was great. We chose the first pitch nearest to the house which had no problem with noise or privacy. The welcome pack showed footpaths and bridleways direct from site which was a great bonus for our field spaniel. Great base for everything. 5 minute drive to park & ride £3.20 return into York. Will definitely return.

Superb CL

Brilliant CL with excellent access into York using the Park & Ride. Beautiful CL in a lovely setting. Lovely watching the horses in the fields and excellent unspoilt walks along the river. Nice toilet block. Road in is a little bumpy but no issue if driven sensibly. Would 100% recommend and would definitely return if in the area again.

Great site,nice family.

Had booked, with deposit, months ago but due to gales had to postpone our trip. Family very co-operative to rebooking new dates. Site matches all previous descriptions, immaculate and quiet. Handy for the new Poppleton Park and Ride, 3 miles away....we will return as enjoyed everything about it.

Stunning location

Just returned from 3 night stay at Red House; it was a privilege to stay in the grounds of Red House. Very friendly owners, and very free and easy. Good welcome pack with map of walks and facilities on the site, including heated swimming pool, croquet and tennis court. Very large plots for vans with plenty of space around. Stunning countryside. Easy access to Park and Ride into York via A59. And all so utterly peaceful! Thank you!

Great CL Experience

Just returned from a 1 week stay here over October half term. There is PLENTY of space for your pitch with beautiful surroundings on the estate. Really good access to Harrogate and York and beyond. And whilst it was wet week in October and a bit muddy to say the least the owners were very friendly and on standby with Fergie the tractor to ensure we got off the site with no issues. Will definitely be back in summer 18.

Fabulous Site.

It feels like you are staying in the grounds of a national trust property. The gardens and orchard are lovely. Surrounded by horses it is an idylic spot, with a massive field to lose yourself in privacy if you require. A lovely welcome and always available for a chat, the owners were non intrusive, but available. A heated outdoor pool, grass court tennis, badminton, croquet our kids loved it. For history buffs, the old chapel and the story of the house is very interesting. 20 minutes from York and 10 minutes from the A1. But promise me you wont tell everyone!

Great site

This is a fantastic site in a beautiful location, we have stayed here half a dozen times I guess, in summer the pool is open and there is lawn tennis and a croquet lawn, equipment is provided. Loads of space to relax and as others have said there is easy access to the banks of the river Ouse for walking. It's a long way to nearest shops or pub so a car is need for that purpose I would say. While I was there this weekend the toilet block, which is shared with the equestrian facilities was being re tiled. It is a shortish walk from the caravan field but not a problem. Probably the best Cl I have stayed at and will be going again.....regularly
