Another Gem

Superb location. Close to a number of Nat Trust. Ludlow Town and Food centre. Long distant views towards the Welsh Marches. Hardstanding or grass pitches. Best facilities block we have seen. Immaculate condition, tarmac farm drive. Price is £15 per night not as shown. If a M/H you will need a long hoze to fill in- boad tank. We will return.

Lovely spot

Used this CL as we usually do, for an overnight stop. This is definitely one which we would choose to use for a longer stay in the future. The owner was away when we phoned to check availability but told us to just turn up anyway as his son would be there. He proved to be very friendly and helpful, telling us to make ourselves at home and sending us in the direction of an excellent dog walking path. The location of the site is lovely with far reaching views and is very quiet and peaceful. The facilities are clean and well maintained and there is lots of information about the local area available. Highly recommended.

Enjoyable Summer Visit

The site is easily accessed being about 1.5 mls off the A49 just north of Leominster. It has 6 H/S pitches with room also on the grass. The long tarmac drive is good for a morning or evening dog walk. There are extensive open views to the west towards Bircher Common and the Croft Estate & further into Wales. The separate ladies & gents toilets were immaculately clean, but I cannot comment on the state of the shower as we didn't use it. However it was being use by others on the site, so would certainly have seemed to be adequate at least. We had no problems with the footpaths around the site, but always take walking poles to help us clear a path should the need arise. There are numerous N/T properties close by, eg Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, & Lower Brockhampton. Loeminster has both a Morrisons & an Aldi as well as lots of eating places. The only down side as far as we were concerned was that the owner allowed more than 5 vans on some nights. We will certainly consider returning but perhaps not during a busy holiday period.

Attractive setting but some drawbacks

We stayed for 2 nights in June and whilst we would agree with previous comments about the setting of the site and the views from it, there were some things which we felt detracted from the site's overall attractions. The toilet/shower block, although it seemed to be kept reasonably clean, did leave some things to be desired, especially the shower which is in a separate cubicle with a very poor light. Access to the local footpath network seems to be good when you look at the OS map but the footpath which runs immediately to the east of the site cannot be accessed directly from it and requires a rather circular route to the north to reach it. Also, a number of the public footpaths are not well signed and some sections are rather overgrown with nettles which can make walking along them a bit hazardous at times or even require a change of route. If you are a dog lover, you may be a bit distressed to see an old Labrador who is left chained up outside some outbuildings all day.

Superb CL

Just had 13 nights on this lovely site, fantastic views, choice of hardstanding or grass, good facilities including gents and ladies loos, shower, plenty of info. Good base for exploring the local area, be it walking,  cycling, driving. Friendly helpful owners. Thank you for a great stay.

Nice location

We spent one night at this site in September.

Welcome was friendly and informative. LocalPlacesOfInterest beautiful with plenty of interesting dog walks from site. Everything well maintained and clean.

Only negative from us is that hard standing layout makes the pitches relatively close together, but on this occasion it wasn't a problem as those around us considerate and friendly
