Lovely site for visiting Bomber County

We live in Lincolnshire and have visited Lincoln many times, but we have rarely visited the countryside outside of the city, and we were so glad we were able to get booked into this CL. When booking we made sure first that the ground was able to take our 7m motorhome, especially after all the rain - we were assured that we would have no problem - and indeed we didn't. Mr Marris greeted us on our arrival and pointed out where he would prefer us to pitch up. We had a good chat about the weather and the plight of farmers in the area - and generally put the world to right. After that he left us to it. The CL is extremely well kept and it was lovely looking out over the fields with the hares and partridges running about. We like to get out on our bikes and the local villages were lovely to cycle round. We resisted the temptation to visit the many pubs we passed in the immediate area, but we did stop and have a drink in the Dambusters Inn on the Saturday in the village of Scampton, with all its RAF history. Lincoln is easy to get to and had we a mind we would have cycled into the city, but we concentrated on the countryside which didn't disappoint.

Beautifully maintained

We stayed here for a couple of nights and wish we had booked for longer. The site was immaculate as was the whole farm . The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely views from the site and plenty of wildlife to look at . We had a long walk along the river into Lincoln which was really good and relatively easy. We caught the bus back but unfortunately the bus no longer stops at gate one of The Lincolnshire Showground so was dropped off quite a bit further on extending our walk back. We would thoroughly recommend this site and will definitely be returning in our Motorhome.

Spacious pitches and well drained site.

This is a very nice well kept site with scenic views. We have just spent the weekend here and would highly recommend it. The owners are very friendly and take pride in the upkeep of this CL. It is dog friendly site with a good dog walk. We thought that after the recent rain it might be a bit boggy but the field has very good drainage and we had no issues at all. Lincoln is about 4 miles away so we drove to the park and ride and caught the bus into Lincoln. I would definitely return here.

Very good site

South Cliff Farm - If you are looking for a very well kept peaceful site then this is the one for you. Easy access to the site on on a tarmac road, beautifully kept site that is maintained to a very high standard. There are several spacious grass pitches which you have the choice of, the site is very well drained and and the grass is mowed regularly. We have been using this site for 25 years and never had issues with pitching and leaving site. Electric points are located at a main distribution box and also on the farm building behind the trees. Easy access to bus route or an easy cycle into the City. If your visiting Lincoln then this is the CL to stay at. Thanks Andy & Deb K

Great stop for Lincoln

This site is ideal for visiting Lincoln Castle and Cathedral,in fact turn right out of the site and the road leads directly to the Lawns motorhome friendly car park! Good dog walking from site and the Dambusters pub in Scampton serves excellent food(we even had our own Red Arrows display over the garden) Scampton Church and churchyard are also well worth visiting.Would stay again.

Lovely spot

First visit here, 4 nights. Very laid back, all you need close by. Ideal for Lincoln and all it has to offer. Well looked after site and enjoyed daily displays from the red arrows too.spectacular sunsets and blood moon rises from entrance road. Wow!! Would have been 5 stars for peace and tranquility but for 2 days of dogs barking and howling from 6am til 10pm off in the distance at either a kennels or hunt. More noticeable maybe due to having windows open day and night in heatwave, under normal circumstances may not have noticed? Would still return though, great location and smashing little site.

Lovely spot

We have just spent ten relaxing peaceful nights on South Cliff farm The owners Bill & Jenny are friendly and helpful and around the farm if needed. Lots of options for a pitch, full sun or shade and very quiet, with immaculate grass pitches. Easy access to Lincoln and surrounding areas with good road links. A fine place to stay if visiting the showground which is next to the farm and the Reds practice over the area. Enjoy your stay Andy & Deb

Lovely site, if a little confusing

When I booked this site, I stupidly didn’t asked how much it was a night. The website says £15pn, but when you arrive there’s a sign saying £20 a night! Had we have known it was that much, we sadly wouldn’t have booked. We thought it was a little steep for a site with just electric hookup and no other facilities. The site was a little confusing as for a 5 van site, there was markings for about 10 pitches? Also if it wasn’t for the fact we’d read the reviews before we came, we wouldn’t have known where the electric hook up points where. We where greeted by a red arrow display when we arrived. Nice easy access into Lincoln. As much as the site is very well kept, I’m afraid we won’t be back due to the price.

Beautiful spot

What a lovely secluded spot with plenty of space, very well kept with fabulous dog walks in beautiful countryside yet within minutes of Lincoln centre. We were left alone with no hassle. Arrive when you like and leave when you like, a magical place.

I’ll be back!

Close to main roads and the city of Lincoln but you can’t tell. Secluded site, surrounded by trees and farmland, this provided a perfect short stay. The owners couldn’t have been nicer and we enjoyed finding out more about the farm, the woodland and the fishing. We are definitely planning a return visit in the not too distant future.
