A great place to stay

This is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. The location is great with beautiful views and walks. The water, bins and waste are easy to locate and use. Adrian came out to check all was ok and spoke to us about the area and made some suggestions of places to walk and eat. Our only regret was that we were so busy visiting places and walking that we did not have the time to sit for an afternoon and relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. It's cheaper than it should be and we did tell him that!

Wonderful

What a lovely site. It is very peaceful, beautiful surroundings. Water and electric hook up on your pitch. Great access to a dog walking area and the beach too. What more could you want. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and went above and beyond. Thank you for providing such an amazing site for all to enjoy.

What a beautiful place!

Found a little gem and don’t want to say too much good things about them otherwise I will never get booked lol! However lovely little spot. Beautiful views and having the horses etc at the end of the field too was stunning! Ground and set up was very well looked after and the owner was super friendly and all above board! Definately coming back and thank you for a very relaxed and beautiful stay. Great price too!

This is a great site.

We have stayed on this site many times now but never done a review, I have no idea why, probably because we're so relaxed after our visit it just doesn't come to mind. The site is clean and tidy and in loverly surroundings with good views. There is plenty of wildlife to observe, including birds, hares, badgers, foxes (although you'll have to be up early) etc. and friendly horses in the fields. Adrian, the owner, regularly cuts the grass and collects the cuttings unlike so many other sites, who don't, so you never have a grass carpet in your van or mobile. This is surely a bonus... The site is well located being minutes from the sea in Thorness Bay (through a holiday home site down the road) and within about 30 to 35 minutes of almost anywhere on the island, which is great for sightseeing and other adventures. This site is definitely worth a visit or two...

We keep on coming back

As the title says we keep returning to this site. The owner is great, he is around when you need him, and is regularly cutting the grass and maintaining the property. The site is on the route to a caravan resort but the traffic noise is not intrusive nor does it detract from the surroundings. There is a good distance between the pitches to allow for awnings etc. There are good views as well. We will be returning for another long stay next year. I highly recommend the site.

A bit hemmed in on pitch 4.

Lovely kept site with great views. A bit of road noise from the lane outside as it's one of the routes through to the huge nearby ParkDean site and a speed hump right outside the gate seems to make it worse due to the slowing down and speeding up of vehicles. Perhaps the pitches on the far side of the site would not be so bothered with this. The site is within easy access to Cowes and a hidden gem of a place called Newtown that we'd highly recommend. Our only gripe is that the owner who greeted us on arrival told us we wouldn't be bothered by a late ferry arrival on the temporary pitch next to us. He led us to believe it would be for one night. We came back to our van on pitch 4 in the afternoon to see a caravan with awning set up on the temporary pitch with a car parked next to it quite close to our van. This completely blocked access to the water tap. We spoke to the new arrivals who told us Adrian had 'kindly' allowed them to stay on this temp pitch for the next 14 days as he was fully booked! The pitch 3 the other side of us had their car parked by the caravan quite close to us too so we felt rather hemmed in and overlooked. Thankfully we only stayed a few days but wouldn't have been happy for any longer. We didn't see Adrian again so we couldn't challenge him on being a bit economical with the truth regarding the temp pitch. We can appreciate people now accepting 6 vans to try and recoup their Covid losses but the pitch spacing here does not cater for that. In fact the field had plenty of space elsewhere for the 6th van, this would be the better option.

A wonderful Anniversary

Having had to cancel our plans for our 50th Wedding Anniversary the choice of this site was spot on. A warm welcome and wonderful views, all capped with a bottle of bubbly from the owners . All disappointment of our previous plans were forgotten. Thank for giving us a memorable time to remember. We will be back hopefully before our 60th!!!!

This is a great site

Adrian took us in as waifs and strays after another site didn't work out as planned. And we are so glad we came. He told us this was probably the first CL on the island back in the day and the site does have a lovely feel. The views are absolutely stunning and on a good day you can see to Brighstone Downs. It is a quiet, lawned site, kept well mown with at least three hard standing pitches and has horses in the adjoining fields. It is quite sloped so you will need your ramps. Two water points, good rubbish and recycling facilities and the usual chemical waste point. Adrian is on hand but not at all intrusive. We survived the first lot of August gales (next door said he thought it was like sleeping in a washing machine!) and Adrian was there at about 6.30am as we tottered from our 'vans, offering help, pegs and guy ropes etc if needed. There is access to Thorness Bay through the adjacent holiday park (which is also completely unobtrusive) and we walked our dogs there daily. You can drive to the beach and there is free parking there (check the tides tho').. The park has a Nisa shop, bar, chippy and restaurant. There is also a launderette. Narrow lane for access but it really isn't a problem as there are passing places. We loved our stay - despite the 'interesting' weather and would thoroughly recommend a visit here.

Absolutley Stunning

Having spent just over a week here, i cannot speak highly enough of this CL. From the warm welcome, introduction to the area together with hints and tips for visits from the owner, to the stunning views, location and quality of the local pub (Sportsmans Rest). We had a fantastic relaxing break in a well maintained and obviously much loved CL. Didn't want to leave !

Weekend break

We recently spent a weekend at this great CL which has beautiful views and surrounded by horses in the fields, beautifully kept mowed site with very friendly owners. Will definitely revisit.
