Peaceful and welcoming

We stayed for three nights as part of our coastal tour of Cornwall. Site was very peaceful and spacious, good facilities - clean and well maintained. We loved the walk into Coverack, beautiful little harbour and beach, suite a steep climb back up but well worth it.

Campervan Visit April 2023

Easy access to site providing one follows the directions (compared to most Cornish sites!). Good communication on booking. Very friendly welcome with the owners obviously keeping careful watch on what is happening. Large, flat hardstanding pitch but options for grass in better weather by the looks of it. Easy access to water for vans. Facilities not used. Beautiful surrounding countryside with easy access to coast path & Terence Coventry Sculpture Park. Short walk into Coverack but steep uphill walk on the way back. Excellent CL.

Feels like coming home

We are regular visitors to Specky Wood, it's been our base near Coverack for many years. We've been twice this year and the 1st time after breaking down on A30 we didn't arrive till 10.30pm. Both of them were there to welcome us and to see if there was anything we needed. They always make you feel so welcome. There is plenty of room between pitches and they are either grass or hardstanding, it is also very tranquil. The site is spotless, the grass never gets chance to grow much before Jeffrey is out with the mower. Both Jeffrey and Nicola are always on hand for any tips on where to go around the area. Whenever we go, there are always lots of people that are regulars. To us that definitely means they are doing everything right. We love the area as its not busy and you are close enough to travel to surrounding areas. We love it, can't wait to go back. Try it and you'll love it also. See you soon Nicola and Jeffrey, can't wait for our next visit

Peaceful and Relaxing - 5 STARS

Peaceful and Relaxing – 5 STARS This is an outstanding site that is ideally located to explore the Lizard peninsular and all its awesome natural beauty including the famous pasty mines. Coverack village is only a twenty minute stroll away with its picture perfect harbour and safe sandy beach. The sea air here is so clean and fresh it soothes the soul. The owners, Jeffrey and Nicola who live on site have worked hard to create a lovely campsite that will appeal to people seeking relaxation, peace and quiet. The site is well organised with level pitches of generous size and conveniently located water, recycling and electric hook-up facilities. Jeffrey keeps the grass and hedging looking pristine with new planting, drainage and access improvements enhancing the site. The owners are very knowledgeable about the local area and are always on hand to offer help and advice. They are really friendly and go out of their way to ensure their guests have a great stay.

Perfect!

This is a fantastic site run by the owners who are very friendly and welcoming. Hidden away near to Coverack, the site is immaculate with vast pitches allowing everyone to have space and privacy. You will be guaranteed complete peace and tranquility. The Lizard is a fascinating and unspoilt part of Cornwall and this site is a perfect base for exploring. Thank you for a fantastic stay, I'm sure we will be back!

An Absolute Gem of a CL

Everything about this CL is perfect. We had a warm friendly welcome and some really useful local information from the site owners. The nearby sculpture park was wonderful and the beautiful coastal village of Coverack was a short stroll away, albeit downhill. The hard standing pitch was totally flat and the facilities were clean, functional and well maintained. £20 per night (including use of the shower/toilet block) in mid April. The site even owner helped another caravaner change their wheel which was lovely. A really nice place for a quiet relaxing break.

Outstanding

Just spent 2 nights at this amazing spacious clean and very friendly CL. The best CL we’ve stayed on so far during our tour of Devon and Cornwall. We had a very large hard standing pitch and access to our own shower/toilet room (paid extra and worth it). Perfectly placed for exploring the area on foot, easy access to coastal path and beautiful walks in abundance, found a beautiful cove and had a lovely early evening swim, very safe. The walk in to Coverack is down hill, quite steep but manageable, had dinner at the Paris Inn, excellent food but you will need to book. We will absolutely return to this site, the owners are very friendly and accommodating - hope Nicola agrees to the extension Jeff, we expect to see it completed next time we are down ! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great Site. Brilliant friendly owners.

We have just left this great site. We loved the large pitches, clean facilities and exceptionally friendly helpful owners. The walk into Coverack is around 10-15 minutes along a back road. It is down a steep hill which is definitely doable on the way back. We love Coverack- great views, beach, pub, fish and chips, cafe. There are many other places easily accessible from the site, we walked the coastal paths and drove to Lizard etc, Prussia Cove is worth a visit. We have had a great time and have no hesitation in recommending Specky Wood!

Lovely peaceful site

2nd visit to speckywood and the first one in the summer. This site is one of my favourite cls I've been to, due to the fact it's on the lizard which is very peaceful and relaxing. The site itself is well laid out and has large pitches especially for our motorhome. Coverack is about a 15 to 20-minute walk away with a pub, shops and a beach and is very pleasant. But I recommend you explore the lizard as a whole as well, places like loe bar, poltesco, porthoustock, etc Nic and Jeff the owners are lovely and very hard working, and welcomed us when we arrived. Nic and Jeff also helped me out with a temp solution with my onboard grey water tank so many thanks for that!!! Lovely site, great location, well priced and great owners. Will be back!!!
