We love this site!!

We love Woolacombe and the surrounding area, so when we found this amazing site 12 years ago, we were hooked. Such a beautiful and tranquil field with amazing views, well kept grass and abundant wildlife. The owners are always very welcoming, but leave you to it. Even our dog loved it here and the walks just across the lane down through valley. The only drawbacks are the narrow lane, In which after visiting the site around 30 times we have never had a problem and after staying at this site with so much space and freedom, its painful to go back to a commercial site. We thoroughly recomend this site!

Walking from site is very difficult!

Unlike other reviews, we found that with dogs (who are good on the lead) the walking from the site was both dangerous and honestly quite poor! Dangerous as the amount of traffic along this narrow country lane is sufficient that it makes for very dangerous movement indeed, most especially as so many people don't know the width of their cars and the speed they should be driving down very narrow Devonshire roads. The site itself is OK, however the fact that the waste disposal point is very difficult to use added to which that there is no tap located there, I can only judge this facility as bad to poor! Mrs. Wilkinson is however a lovely kind hearted person and her husbands interest in old cars is captivating. Very unfortunately in these Covid times, I am afraid to say that the amount of traffic on the surrounding roads is almost beyond belief added to which that the almost total lack of common sense and respect by so many of these people who would normally be holidaying in Benidorm, Corfu or the like resulted in this holiday not being a pleasant experience!!

Fantastic location

This was a last minute summer booking as the site we had originally booked had run out of water! We had a fantastic stay and would happily return. The approach is narrow, but it's a short stretch and we had no problems. The owner was incredibly friendly and helped us out when we had problems with our battery. Ilfracombe and Woolacombe are a short drive and there are lots of things to do and places to visit. There is a well stocked Tesco nearby plus numerous caravan accessory places. The site itself was a good size with views and we had it to ourselves for much of the time. 4G mobile coverage and good water pressure. Highly recommended!.

Great value

Just down the lane from the club site, very handy for Woolacombe, no problem with the caravan coming or leaving and I did meet a couple of cars on the lane out, good dog walk just across the road, just the basics here so just used the battery for five nights, at six quid a night great value.

Spreacombe Lodge Farm CL, Woolacombe

We stayed here for one night over the weekend in our VW Campervan. I agree with the other reviewers...the roads leading to site are very narrow and we did meet several cars. Relieved we only had our campervan and not the caravan. Basic field but with lovely views towards the coast and sea. Very warm and friendly welcome from the owner. We were the only outfit there so it was very peaceful. At £6 per night we felt it was superb value for money.

Fantastic.

We have stayed here for around 7 consecutive years and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when visiting Devon. The owners are so accommodating and friendly. They genuinely just want you to enjoy your stay, which we do, every time, in all types of weather!  As we're completely self contained in a motorhome, the site has everything we need. A field, a water point a rubbish bin and a CDP. It's perfect for us as we go to body board in Woolacombe for the day and then weather permitting, come back to BBQ at night. If it's cold we get the fire pit out which isn't a problem as its raised from the ground. Perfect in every way. The sheep in the next fiend just add to the wonderful experience!

Great for walkers

This is a delightful site.  We were welcomed by the owner but left in peace.  The views are great, and in general our stay was very relaxing.  The walks from here were stunning, a range of scenery from woodland to coastline, as long or as short as you wish.  Some roads are busy, but this area is popular so you need to expect that.  The one negative is that there is no toilet but it wasn't a problem for us as we are self contained.  We will come back.

Great for a Weekend Break

We visited this site for a long weekend last summer and had a great time. For us it worked because of being close to Woolacombe which we love very much. Our daughter loved it here with the sheep just in the adjacent field. The owners were very helpful as then we had a dead cell on our battery and they done everything they could to help us as there is no electric. We got through, just but having nice weather soon helped us overcome the battery. We will agree the access to the site is through narrowing lanes, but this is achievable and yes it is basic but at that price what would you expect? We will definitely stay here again just to be close to a firm favourite place.

Basic CL with small issues

This site is accessed via a VERY narrow but quite busy road which has few passing places. It is very basic sloping field with tap and CDP. It is not really possible to walk anywhere from this site and due to the speed of the traffic on this narrow road walking or cycling along it must be undertaken with extreme care. The welcome from the owner was warm and friendly. Payment was made when we left rather than up front. Some road noise is apparent during the day which is a pity as this spoilt our relaxation.
