Superb

The Tudge family were all incredibly welcoming and helpful. We had the pleasure of trying their home made sausages, home-cured bacon, and venison, which were all superb. And free range eggs too. No need to eat out on this trip! Can't recommend this CL site highly enough. We will be back...

Excellent all round

Just spent 2 nights at The Bury and can't fault it. Extremely welcoming & friendly hosts, beautiful views and home made sausages/bacon. What more could you want? Ludlow easily accessible, about a 10 minute drive. Will definitely return, thanks for your hospitality. This is what a cl should be as far as I'm concerned.

What a find.

Booked this site fairly last minute for a long weekend and had the site to ourselves. The recent amazing weather held out for us too which only added to a perfect experience of tranquility in beautiful surroundings. With Ludlow just a short distance away and two National trust properties to hand there was plenty for us to do during the day, returning late afternoon to take in the lovely sunsets as it descended behind the undulating hills. Charlotte and Chris were great, offering advice on local attractions and simply checking that everything was ok. They gave us some fresh eggs and we also brought some of their own amazing sausages and a pork loin joint for a Sunday roast that was heavenly. Has the advantage of being hard standing so it’s open all year round. All in all added up to an amazing stay and would highly recommend this site. Can’t wait to return and might venture here over winter.

Tranquillity.

What a smashing welcome from both Charlotte & Chris. We were made to feel so at home. The whole site was spotless, (This is the only farm site where I have ever seen a farmer washing his machinery) with well cut grass and all services close to hand. The entrance from the road was level and straight so no risk of meeting an other outfit on the way in. The pitches were level with enough water taps and power points to have one each. Advice on local pubs and shops was given and the offer of help should any problem arise. We were treated like family members and made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. So thanks to all. We will be back. Gerald, Janice & Chip.

What a gem!

What a find! Delightful site with the most accommodating, friendly and generous owners we've yet to meet. Loads of room on each hardstanding plot, with your own tap and electricity. Beautiful changing views of the lovely surrounding countryside. Loads of walks from the site along recognised footpaths and quiet country lanes. Ideal for visiting the lovely town of Ludlow and other nearby towns. Two great NT locations with fantastic walks just down the road and another a little further away. Delicious fresh and own reared pork and pork products available, to eat on site and/or to take home with you. This is a relatively new CL and we wish the owners every success - they certainly deserve it.

One of the VERY best

You wouldn't fine a better site. Chris and Charlotte made us welcome from the very moment we arrived. Wonderful views, electric and water available for each pitch, all hard standing, everything you need. Then of course if you need to stock up the fridge, eggs, bacon, pork chops etc etc are available from Chris, oh, and the sauage rolls are a must. We agree will the other reviews, that this is a very lovely site with hosts that are very special. We hope to be back soon and thanks a million for your care and friendship C and C on our recent visit.

Winter wonderland - March 2017

We were originally booked in at another site on a slope and due to the bad weather forecast the owners kindly recommended that we try 'The Bury' as it was flat and had hard standing. We were a party of two caravans and one camper-van and the Tudge family made us all very welcome. The following day we had a flurry of snow but it did not stop us going into Ludlow for a mooch around. It was bitter cold that evening and started snowing quite hard but we were all very cosy and warm. The next day we woke to a wonderful winter wonderland. The views were amazing before the snowfall but covered in snow they were really something special. As the water-pipes were all frozen we were allowed to use the farm prep room to get water. Chris kindly used his tractor and snow plough to make a clear pathway for us to safely get out of the camp site to go home. We were all very reluctant to leave this gem of a site but we shall return not only for the views and the hospitality but also the tasty bacon and sausages they sell.

Winter weekend

The Bury is simply a Gem., The pitches are all hardstanding with water and electric hook-up readily to hand. You have open views across fine Herefordshire countryside and the hedgerows are full of bird song even on a frosty February morning. The site is immaculate and you can even buy Berkshire pig sausages, and bacon on the farm and Charlotte even offers bantam eggs to complete the breakfast. If you like pigs then seek out the Berkshires on the farm as they just fun to watch. The Tudge's are very welcoming and the Bakers Arms in Orleton is a superb locals pub. I could say more but I hope to find a vacant pitch the next time we want to visit.

Our best find so far........

This is by far the best CL site that we have stayed on so far. As we holidayed in February and have a massive motorhome, it was important that we had hard standing and easy access to the site. We couldn't have asked for more. Loads of room on each plot, with a tap on each service point. We didn't arrive until 5pm, but this wasn't a problem. They are the most accommodating and helpful owners by far. Giving information on the surrounding area; and their generosity was unbelievable. They produce the most delicious bacon and sausages ever tasted, which we stocked up on before we went home. A bus between Ludlow and Leominster stops outside the farm, or there are Park and Ride services at Ludlow and Shrewsbury, which makes it easier for town visits. The site is central to a lot of tourist attractions in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Wales. Lots of walking and cycling opportunities near the farm, which include a walk up to the common or along to a forest (approx 20 mins away by foot). There is so much to do here that you will need more than the 6 days that we had. We will definitely visit this site again in the not to distant future. Chris and Charlotte have got some great plans for the future of the site, and they deserve every success, as they both work very hard. Good luck.

Lovely Friendly site

Stayed here for the October half term break, because, of the hard standing and not knowing what the weather would be like. I couldn't be happier, Mrs Tudge was very friendly and helpful. The site is not far from Ludlow and is a good base for travelling around. Absolutely loved our stay, big thank you to the owners. We will definitely be back again.
