3 days on a working farm

We have just returned home from Lincolnshire staying at this lovely little CL for a short three nights. A bus from nearby East Brackwith took us to Lincoln to see the Cathedral and Castle. In our opinion the Cathedral is the finest so far experienced surpassing even York Minster. Back at the farm there is a trail around the fields where we could watch the harvesting of the grain which was interesting and there is a lake where birds and fish are in abundance. There are many quiet corners where the owners have installed seats to take in the views. Big skies, often with RAF and private planes, one of which we watched land on the farm airstrip. This is a working farm so there are large agricultural machines on the move during the day so care should be taken when out on the farm trail. The facilities were clean and tidy and a shower to die for. All an experience not to be forgotten and we hope to return in future as the surface has only been scratched!

Lovely CL site on a working farm

Booked over the Coronation weekend. Arrived early and met Jonathan. It was no problem setting up, choose your own pitch and you’re away. They let me use an EHU extension lead as we chose the furthest pitch! Great facilities, toilet and very good shower. Easy walk into the village where there is a post office and a pub (although the pub didn’t open every day!) On our last night it rained heavily and the MH got a bit bogged down but Jonathan came across within a couple of minutes and towed us with the tractor! Pitches were pretty flat it’s just that there had been so much rain over April and early May. Nothing was too much trouble and would definitely recommend. Steve

Absolutely fabulous CL site

Booked last minute, to find a very warm welcome, beautiful; very clean site, with wonderful walks around the farm trail, with an outstanding large pond with seating areas, ideal for picnics. Very clean toilet and shower facility. Jonathan and his wife should be very proud of their site. We can’t wait to visit again, this CL site deserves more then 5 stars Visited 29/04/23 - 01/05/23

Perfect site for exploring the Wolds & E.Lincs

Stayed here in April 2022 and found the location to be perfect for travelling the short distances to Lincoln, Horncastle, Wragby, Market Rasen, Louth and a little further to Donna Nook for the seals. Lovely and quiet with a pub within walking distance serving real ale and food also with a beer garden. Wragby is just a few minutes drive or cycle awayand the Ivy pub/restaurant had all drinks reduced for Happy Hour on Thursdays 5pm-7pm. Good for walking and cycling on the many country lanes nearby. The site has better than usual facilities with both a toilet and shower in addition to water, ehu and waste disposal. The ehu may require an extension cable (provided) depending upon where you'd prefer to park up. For dog owners there is a perfect, private, one mile or so walk across farmland to a nearby nature reserve with pond/lake and picnic benches. Convenient private air strip adjacent should friends decide to drop in for a coffee whilst you're camping out! Wouldn't hesititate to return, and most likely will before the end of the year.

Peaceful and friendly adult only retreat

The Grange fulfilled every expectation we had when we booked and surprised us with its peace and beauty. We received a warm welcome when we arrived from Sarah after giving a quick call to let her know we had arrived. We had the choice of pitches as first arrival for the weekend and were shown round, everything was very relaxed. Jonathan would sort payment on the weekend - I always love such a trusting and relaxed attitude! Five large pitches set in a well maintained tree surrounded field at the edge of the working farmyard with a pond teaming with wildlife, great spot! The toilet and shower room was spotless all weekend with fresh flowers a lovely touch as were the complimentary toiletries. The anti-room to the bathroom had a great array of information leaflets for the surrounding area as well as maps of the surrounding are and walks of the farm, very accessible. A perfect spot to visit the coast, Lincoln or any close town or just relax I peaceful surroundings. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back, thank you for the warm and friendly hospitality!

A quiet site

This is a good place to sit and relax in pleasant surroundings. The toilet and shower were excellent but could have been cleaner a mop to clean up and some bleach for the toilet would help so people could leave the place as they would like to find it we had a pleasant walk around the farm following the map provided and there are good walks nearby on the Viking way long distance path, also good bus service to Lincoln and Louth in village. I would definitely stay here again if in the area

Very nice CL

We stayed for just one night at this CL - which is really nice. It is set amongst the trees and there is a large pond on the site. We were the only ones there, so could pick any spot we wanted. We arrived mid afternoon and had a little wander around, before walking down into the village to the pub for our evening meal. The weather the next morning was extremely wet and wild, and as we hadn't paid or seen anyone to pay I telephoned and arranged to leave payment in a secure place. We weren't quite sure of the route of the farm trail, and we didn't see anyone to ask on this occasion. However, we will be back!

great base for a cycling holiday

We stayed here for 9 nights and as hoped it proved to be an excellent base for exploring Lincolnshire on bicycles. The site is exactly as described. Access is good. The shower and toilet are good but were never cleaned during our 9 day stay, if they had been, or if some DIY equipment had been available (there is a limit to what can be achieved with surface sanitiser and toilet paper), I would have given this site 5 stars. The pitches are all shady when the trees are in leaf so if you want a sunny pitch this might not be the place for you. The farm trail is excellent. The water tap has a long hose on a reel available, this makes filling of water rolls possible in situ on at least 3 of the pitches, this is a great idea and I wish more sites had such equipment. It is a very peaceful site in a rural location, but it is on a working farm so sometimes there is some tractor noise. The tractors are quite impressive! The water rail trail from Lincoln to Boston is a very good multi use path mostly surfaced. It is a good day out to cycle to Lincoln through the lanes joining the NCR into the Cathedral/Castle area. Walk down Steep HIll on the cobbles (not for shoes with big cleats!) and cycle back using the Water rail trail, via Short Ferry there is a cycle friendly pub there beside the river. There is a flat ride to Woodhall Spa, you can use the water rail trail for part of the way in at least one direction. There is a slightly hilly but very scenic ride to Horncastle via Cadwell Park to see the motor bikes racing round or you can go by a flat route. Louth us definitely worth a visit and has a very good bike shop. The Louth Cycle centre. Market Rasen has a great cafe Jossals and the racecourse is worth a look, access via the campsite next door! There are many other rides all possible direct from site. The pub in the village was also good.

Welcoming Host

This site is superb. We found it exactly as described, peaceful and tranquil in a beautiful rural location. Jonathan was welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay. This is definitely our favourite CL within Lincolnshire, visitors won't be disappointed.

Lovely site

We visited the site for one night in our Motorhome. It was a lovely site with very easy access and a level grassy pitch. There was lots of space between the pitches and, having arrived early, we were able to choose our pitch. The only problem we had was finding someone to pay our money to as we went out in the evening so paid the next morning. The toilet and shower were a great addition and were very clean and well presented, even with toiletries supplied. We would definitely visit again.
